Goals // 11.17

October 31, 2017

Happy Halloween!!! I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of November, so I'm going to keep it real and just have four goals for the busy month ahead. A few things that are very important to me in the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle! But first, let's look back at October goals......

October Goals
1 // consistently have my quiet time in the morning - the month started off strong but then things got busier and I wasn't consistent. I did find a new bible study for "busy women" that teaches consistency and I'm really excited to start it this month.
2 // enjoy a day away with Peter for our anniversary - I shared our day away HERE & it was such a fun time, and so needed!
3 // start working in the baby's room - the room is mostly cleared and all of Solomon's 0-6 month clothes are ready to be washed and organized! I'm excited to finish up the room in November! Hoping it's mostly done by December.
4 // drink more water - I significantly cut down on the sweet tea and was craving more water, once I started drinking more of it during the day, thankfully!
5 // go apple picking & pumpkin picking - We made the trip to Justice Apple Orchard HERE, & my mom took Solomon to several pumpkin patches, so I didn't feel too awful about not making it to one this year. We have to squeeze in both next year though!

November Goals
1 // start my new bible study
2 // finish Asher's room
3 // plan our 10th Annual Ornament Exchange with my mom
4 // begin my weekly three posts again

halloween birthday bash.

October 30, 2017

I have a feeling that my nephew Jaden will have several birthdays involving a Halloween party. Being born so close to such a fun holiday definitely helps with celebrating! Helping my SIL with the decorations was a lot of fun also, I really love to decorate for Halloween, since my mom always had so much fun with it when I was growing up. The party turned out so cute and we loved celebrating one of my favorite little guys. I can't believe he is a whole hand old already. Five, how is it possible???

The pumpkin painting was a lot of fun and a big hit.

The food was also a big hit. I love a good brunch party... quiche, hashbrown casserole, waffles and some sweets with fruit! Mmmm, all with a hot cup of coffee.

The weather was also perfect for a bunch of kids to get some energy out and play outside. We were so glad that the rain held off and it only sprinkled a little bit here and there.

I think Peter and his brother had as much fun as the kids with the obstacle course!

Jonah and his little hand... this kid! I love him!!

We always say that Solomon is going to be on Ninja Warrior one day, so these pictures of him doing the obstacle course make me laugh!!

And then it was cake time, and this is the face we get for pictures if we tell Solomon he can have cake if he smiles really big. I'm also super sad that I didn't get any pictures with the boys. I was so preoccupied behind the camera and waddling around the house with my big 31 week pregnant self. Ooops!

This sweet boy, he walked up to his mom during the party and said thank you for his birthday party. He is such a precious boy!

Ending the party with gifts and his big boy bike!!! He was so excited, clearly. Love his big smile!!
Happy Birthday Jaden! We love you so much!!!

pregnancy post // month seven.

Weeks 25-28

I am sadly so behind with these posts thanks to our busy schedule, but mostly the fact that the editing program that I normally use is no longer free. Grrr, so irritating. So, I'm gonna make do without the editing because I have to keep these memories in one space, even if they look a little different now!

25 weeks:
  • Constantly have to pee. Like, all the time!!!
  • Beach vacation made the 25 week mark such a fun and relaxing week!
  • Can't believe we are almost finished with the second trimester in just a couple of weeks.
  • Feeling large and in charge, ha!
  • Hot flashes are gone for the most part, thankfully.

26 weeks:
  • Braxton hicks contractions all the time!!!
  • Not sleeping that well, waking up uncomfortable and having to move around to find a comfy position again.
  • Asher is moving constantly when music is playing, just like his big brother did.
  • We are officially calling him Asher now to see if we like it. I love it, Peter is still not 100% sure.
  • Pregnancy brain is legit this week, I can't even think straight half the time!

27 weeks:
  • Failed the first glucose test, just like I did with Solomon! Hoping to pass the second test, like last time, also.
  • Felt the baby have some serious hiccups for the first time. They lasted FOREVER!
  • Round ligament pain is bothering me again, mainly in the morning.
  • Sore feet and legs every night, hot showers are helping me sleep some.

Third Trimester
28 weeks:
  • Welcomed the third trimester!!! Can't believe we are in the final trimester of pregnancy. I'm getting very excited to meet our baby boy.
  • Not sleeping that well since I wake up with parts of my body numb and stiff. Makes mornings a little hard to get around for the first little while.
  • I had my first acupuncture appointment for this pregnancy and loved it. Such a relaxing time!
  • Passed my 3 hour glucose test but dealing with an annoying UTI! It's been a rough week.
  • Spent the day in Asheville for our anniversary and I was shocked at how worn out I was. The difference from our day in NY (which involved a LOT more walking) and this trip was crazy.

Asher's Baby Shower.

October 23, 2017

I was so thankful when my cousin offered to give me and the new baby boy a shower. I honestly thought about saying no at first because I don't really NEED anything for our second little guy, but she told me that all babies should be celebrated, and I couldn't agree more! It was such a beautiful morning on Saturday at her house. She lives almost an hour away, up in the mountains, and it was so gorgeous. All the decorations that my two cousins and aunt put together were perfection. Fall makes me so happy anyways, so this shower was the sweetest thing.

It was also super awesome to have my favorite scones of all time from Swamp Rabbit at the shower! I devoured one the second I walked in the door, haha!

The sweet ladies that spoiled me and baby Asher!

Joni set up a little kids table for coloring and eating which Solomon loved!! He was so happy to play with them and he's obsessed with Joanna. He was calling her Jo and following her around the house the whole time.

Solomon was all about feeding Silas, also, which was so funny!!!

So excited to have two sweet little babies three weeks apart. I'm really excited to see how close they actually end up once they are both born. I also can't wait for the first baby girl on the Eliya side to be born!!!

During the process of announcing the name I realized how much I prefer the spelling of his name with an ER, not a UR. After some conversations with Peter, we have decided to go with Asher, instead. I'm so happy!!! I can't wait to meet our sweet little boy and see his face. I think that's what I'm most excited about right now. Solomon was such a shock to me since he was identical to my baby pictures, so I can't wait to see what this little nugget looks like!

It was so sweet to have Solomon help me open gifts for Asher. He was so excited and kept exclaiming happily, BABY SHOWER!!! Anytime I would open an outfit he would touch it softly and say baby Asher, so sweetly. I can't wait to see him with his baby brother!!

The biggest surprise during the gifts was the cute little deer hat and pants that I have been dying to have, but I couldn't bring myself to spend money on it. My cousin Jenny did such a great job with this gift thanks to my Mom giving her some hints!

I literally can not wait to take some newborn pictures of his little butt in these pants!!!
Oh man, December can't come soon enough, guys!
Thank you to my sweet family for this beautiful morning, I honestly can't express how much it meant to me. Our sweet Asher is so lucky to be loved by you so much already.
