Thanks-Living // February

February 28, 2013

This past weekend in Colorado was everything I hoped it would be. Even with the terrible cold I had {and now known ear infection} I still enjoyed all the fun with my future extended family! You know when you have vacations planned and you build up the time ahead so much that when your trip is finished you almost feel let down? That is something I never have to worry about when I have days planned with the Eliya family. The time always goes by too quickly and I'm left wanting more. Of course I am happy to come home since vacations always help me realize how thankful I am for home but I also feel an overwhelming thankfulness for the people I have in my life. The love that is within this family makes my heart warm and I'm so happy I am going to be apart of all the fun times ahead. I spent the weekend with new friends and a few old friends too so I really couldn't ask for more! it really was perfect except for the rude way the Colorado altitude kicked my butt. That really was uncalled for, Breckinridge!!

Seriously though... Spending time in such a beautiful place gave me moments to stand back and just look. Look at the way The Lord made the mountains and sky meet in the most perfect way and then covered everything with the most peaceful snow. It really was something. My soul was happy and content even though my throat and nose would beg to differ. On the last night we were all together we all crowded together in one of the cabins playing games and watching The Oscars. I wasn't feeling well at all {honestly it was the most horrible I had felt all weekend} but everything seemed perfect. The snow had stopped falling which lead to a perfect night of walking in the beautiful downtown Breckinridge city and then we were all bundled up in the toasty living room by the fire and I felt like I belonged. This family is such a blessing and I'm so thankful to become a part of it. I'm so thankful that Peter chose me. And I'm thankful that I don't take any of this for granted. It's really wonderful what a long weekend in a perfect little snow globe can do for your outlook on life.

Until next time, Colorado!

It's official...
I had crazy butterflies in my belly while I dropped these in the USPS Mailbox on Saturday morning. It was an exciting feeling. Exciting in a "oh my goodness!!! I get to marry the man of my dreams in almost seven months and everyone will see these awesome Save the Dates in just a few days and this is really happening to me! Oh my gosh I am so happy and blessed and I could almost burst!!!!!!!" kind of way. I'm pretty sure that is ranked pretty high on the Top Ten Exciting Moments of Cassie's Life. I'm also pretty sure the moments that will fill the rest of this year will be fighting for a spot on that list and it is completely fine by me! Bring on the excting moments!!!

I also have to give a HUGE shout out to the Blog/Save the Date/Invitation/Everything Else design extraordinaire! Kelly is simply amazing!!! I can't imagine enjoying the process of choosing a Save the Date design so much without her involved. You are truly a life saver, Kelly, and I am so thankful for you!!!!

Okay, so that is all. Just a little excitement and a squeal from me! ;) Have a lovely day and enjoy your weekend!!! I'm flying off to Colorado today, see ya!

pretty white stuff.

February 18, 2013

Over the weekend here in Greenville, SC we had snow! It really was the most beautiful, perfect snow. White and fluffy and coated almost everything with a perfect layer of white icing from heaven. Here in the south we usually have a little snow then everything freezes over and we lose power for a couple of days. This time was completely different! The snow came down for a couple of hours for everything to stay pretty for a little while, then the roads started to dry and everything was safe and sound with some pretty white snow left behind. Saturday would have been my Grandfather’s 81st Birthday and I like to think he had a little something to do with the prettiness falling from way up there.

^^ Bella loved the snow and running around without her leash for a little while!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! I will be enjoying a lot MORE snow this weekend & you know I will return with a few pictures and stories. Happy Monday and let the countdown begin... two more days till a little vacation fun!!

happy heart day!

Just because it's Valentines day and I'm feeling super gushy and sweet I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite pictures with my future hubby. After all, this is the one and only Valentines Day where I will be his fiancé! We've had quite a few lovey dovey days in the past but this one feels different. This one feels like home. Like I'm exactly where I should be. Loving and feeling full of excitement for the future ahead of us. I thank God daily for sending me this man! I don't know why He decided to send Peter to me but I never want to let a day go by without expressing how thankful I am. Peter makes me laugh, think, and truly makes me feel beautiful on the inside and out. Life is better when we are together and I'm so thrilled to spend the rest of my days on this earth loving him madly!

I hope you all have a day so full of love the only thing you can do is simply give it right back out in return because that is what the world needs. love. Happy Valentines Day wonderful people!!

Cupcakes are yummy!

Last night I went to my first Cupcake Swap thanks to a sweet friend! Jen recently moved from FL and she has always enjoyed her yearly Valentines Day Cupcake Swap and I’m so happy she decided to keep the tradition alive here in Greenville. It was a small group of ladies {including the always adorable Penny} and I had a wonderful time. Honestly, I don’t know what I would have done if I had more than 4 cupcakes to choose from. I don’t eat sweets that often so I think I am good for the week now. It was so much fun to get to know some new people and nibble on a few cupcakes! Thanks Jen for the invite! and the mustache ;)

Ramblings about Thursdays.

February 7, 2013

I’ve grown to realize in the new year of twenty-thirteen that I really like Thursdays. All the other days are fine but there’s just something about the fifth day of the week that makes my heart happy. Even when I spill a healthy portion of my green smoothie {Spinach, Peanut Butter, Almond Milk & Banana} all over my lap on the way to work I still find myself in a good mood. That’s just strange isn’t it? Personally I think it’s very strange…

Mondays annoy me because I wish it were still Sunday // Tuesdays are okay… nothing terrible, nothing special // Wednesdays are awful. I seriously loath “humpday” // But Thursday is like a kickoff to the weekend. I always find time to mentally prepare for what will be happening during the next three days and having the ability to take a deep breath and see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

Today is Thursday. And I am happy about it. Even with green smoothie covered pants and honestly... happiness is my favorite thing to blog about. Random happiness at its finest.

Some Birthday fun.

February 6, 2013

As I mentioned on Monday I love sharing a birthday with my friend Madison. Mine is the 3rd. Hers the 4th. We always share the fun. We admitted to each other it helps us feel less selfish during the celebrations. It’s not all for me…. Its for us! It's just better that way, ya know? So, for the fun Birthday weekend we agreed that The Velo Fellow would be the perfect spot. The small and cozy atmosphere plus all the great food and drinks makes this one of my favorite places to go in downtown Greenville! It really was wonderful. I spent the night enjoying a lot of laughs with eight of my favorite people and what else could a Birthday girl ask for?!? Nothing, I tell you. Absolutley nothing at all!!

^^ Laughing at my big mouth... literally.

^^ The Fiancé sneaking a picture but I caught him!

Twenty Six is going to be a great year. I can feel it in my bones. I realized how truly blessed I am when I was told to make a wish before blowing out my candles on Sunday night. I closed my eyes and then couldn’t think of anything. Literally… nothing came to mind to wish for. Then I murmured something like "I can’t. I have everything I need" and I completely meant every word of it. I have everything I could possibly want and I thank the Lord for it every single day!!!
