weekly three.

February 22, 2019

Woohoo!!! We made it to Friday! This week has been such a LOOOOONG week thanks to the dreadful weather and the tv detox at our house. Anytime we have a sick boy, the tv is on way more than normal, which always means we have to suffer the meltdowns once we are all healthy. Thankfully, we all survived and I’m so ready for the weekend! We have some fun family things planned which is going to be nice, but other than that, I’m going to try and finish organizing our master bedroom! Wish me luck!! The Marie Kondo corner is starting to get out of control, which definitely does not bring me joy. Happy Weekend!

Fresh fruit for snacks and pretending it’s spring outside!

Leaving my DIY heart on the back door until March 1st, because it makes me smile....

We got all of our Usborne books this week from a party I had & they are so good!!! Loving them all, and I really love watching Solomon enjoy them. He didn’t even ask for tv time last night!!

Solomon Says // 006

February 18, 2019

I've been keeping track of some silly things that Solomon has said for the past couple of months and they all make me laugh. He is such a funny kid and we never know what he's going to say next! I can't believe he will be three and a half so soon. Half a year of the crazy threes.... six months left till he's officially four. I've heard something magical happens then, and the melt downs slow down, and your kid becomes a little more normal. If there is such a thing as a normal child?!? Either way, he sure is special, even if he's a little crazy sometimes! Here are a few things that he's said, that I want to always remember!!!

back scratches // most nights, daddy puts Solomon to sleep, while I put Asher to sleep. Usually once I'm finished with Asher, Solomon is already snoozing in his bed, but sometimes he waits for me to say goodnight. On the rare occasion that I go in his room, he always asks me to scratch his back and sing him a song. A few weeks ago, I did the whole routine... scratching, sing three songs and say goodnight. Once I was finished and downstairs with Peter, I asked him if he has to scratch Solomon's back when he does his nightly routine with him. He said no, because Solomon told him he scratches too hard. Flash forward to a couple of weeks when Peter was out of town for work. Gigi came over (like she always does when Peter's out of town, because she is AWESOME!) and after Asher was asleep, I went in to check on Solomon since he was still awake. He asked for me to scratch his back so I did.... he then said Daddy can't scratch his back and I asked why, he then said, "Daddy hurts me because he has big hulk hands!" It was so funny!!! I asked Peter if he knew anything about his Hulk Hands and he said that was a first and he was never told that before.

morning dream // on a random weekday morning, Solomon woke up and excitedly said “let’s go see the snow!!!” He then ran over to the window and said “oh no, it all melted!!” Peter and I died laughing but my heart also broke for him a little bit.

this much // for a really long time, Solomon has been saying be loved GiGi and Daddy and Asher and pretty much anyone “this much” with his arms reached out as far as he can, which is so sweet. He also started to say that he loves mommy “this much” but only shows about an inch between his thumb and finger. The first time he did it, we all laughed but of course I wanted to die a little inside ;) now, months later, he still does it all the time. Just recently, while he was sitting on the potty and I was talking to him, he did the whole thing like always. Daddy, GiGi, Asher, this much with his arms wide open..... mommy, this much with just his fingers. I told him that made me sad and he said why?? I said that means hardly anything at all. I then showed him with my fingers shut was nothing, and the the inch apart was barely anything. He smiled and said no mommy, I love you more than the whole world! However, he still only uses his fingers when he shows me how much, so I give up.

bee talk // a few weeks ago while we were learning about the letter B, we were talking about bees. We went for a walk to try and find some bees but didn't have much luck. I then told Solomon that it wasn't quite time for bees yet since it wasn't spring. He said "yea, bees are having their quiet time!" haha, funny and true, I guess. He told Peter later that night at dinner that we couldn't find any bees because it wasn't spring yet and they were having their quiet time.

look alike // a commercial came on the tv last week and a guy with dark hair and a beard was talking, then he said “hey, that looks like Peter!” I said who?!? And he said “you know, Peter, my daddy!” He was so matter of fact, which made me giggle!!

February 15, 2019

It was another week of sickness in the Eliya house, which had us all nervous about the flu. I’m thankful to report that I think we were safe from that, but another nasty virus took hold of Asher. So far, no one else has been compromised, but if I’ve learned anything about being a mother of two, it’s the waves of sickness. Once the first child is all better, the second will start showing symptoms. We have been much more careful with Solomon playing with Asher, and absolutely no kisses, which is about to KILL Solomon. We are just praying and crossing our fingers that we will all be happy and healthy by Monday! Happy weekend!!!

Before we had any signs of sickness, we had a fun morning with friends!! I mean, Captain America & Iron Man!

Separation and blueberries.

The highlight of any sickness, all the cuddles!!!!

brother littles.

February 13, 2019

I haven't shared a list of little things since last summer, and I really do love them. Especially that one brother littles that I shared when Asher was just two weeks old. Just reading through those and looking at the newborn pictures oozing with sweetness almost killed me. How is it possible for that to be over a year ago now. I still pray constantly for Solomon and Asher to love and respect each other for all their lives.

one // the way Solomon says "hey buddy!!" in the sweetest most tender voice, whenever Asher wakes up from his nap everyday. He almost always demands to hold Asher for just a few seconds, which is hilarious since he definitely doesn't fit in his lap.

two // how Asher tries to copy EVERYTHING that Solomon does. All the time. I also try and use this truth to teach Solomon to be a good leader, but he is a three year old, so I'll let you guess how that conversation goes sometimes.

three // watching the boys wrestle and play with Peter every night before bed is seriously one of my favorite parts of my day. The excitement and laughing that happens in those moments is so good for my soul.

four // the few times that I have taken Asher somewhere without Solomon, he always looks over to Solomon's seat with confusion when I get him out of the car. I always see a little glimpse of sadness in his eyes when he realizes that Solomon isn't with us. And when I take Solomon somewhere without Asher for "Mommy and Solomon time" he constantly asks where is Asher, and why isn't he with us. I love so much that they are more comfortable together than they are apart.

five // whenever I talk to Solomon about having another baby in the family one day, he repeatedly says only brothers. If I say anything about God giving us a baby sister, then he says no, I only want a brother. I guess that means he's happy with Asher around...?

six // the way their eyes light up when they are laughing together. Sometimes I don't even know why they are laughing, and it's like pure magic between them. It doesn't happen a ton now, because of their ages, but I can feel their relationship getting sweeter and deeper, and that makes me incredibly happy.

Solomon, pretty much a constant blur whenever daddy is around! ;)

February 8, 2019

This week was crazy with the little guys in the house coughing and wiping noses all day. It was long, and the nights were mostly sleepless. However, the beautiful weather that we had this week, definitely helped me make it to Friday. I'm definitely happy to see the weekend here, and I'm hoping that we might be on the other side of the virus that took over our house. You enjoy your weekend!!!

Squeezing in some school time when Solomon felt like it. I was surprised at how often he still wanted to sit down and work on some things!

Like I said, the weather was a huge gift this week, and we all enjoyed it!! My new favorite photo of my favorite little brothers.

Enjoying a family date night at one of our favorite spots, Iron Hill Brewery. The food is so good and the beer is delicious!

February 1, 2019

Happy February, and happy Friday!!!! I'm so excited to see this weekend arrive. It has been a fun week for us and we have a lot of birthday fun planned. Both for my nephew and a little Super Bowl shindig for my birthday. I always have to share my day with the Super Bowl, so it's a good thing I love football. I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!!!!

working on the letter A this week has been a lot of fun with my big boy!

so much goodness from our weekly meeting at Mom to Mom. Forever thankful for that program!!

I'm really excited to see Solomon starting to use several colors while coloring a picture instead of coloring everything the same color! So fun to watch him growing up right before my eyes!!
