weekly three.

June 29, 2018

Our long week of vacation is almost over, but we still have the weekend to enjoy Miami today. Then we will head to Ft. Lauderdale for two nights before we fly home again. We love to hop around and see a lot of things during our trips but the first chunk at Marco Island was so nice!! We enjoyed some good food, a lot of pool time and so many beautiful views. Peter was working for the majority of that part of the trip though, which was kind of a bummer. But, now he is free and we have him with us to enjoy the rest of vacation! Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Having my mom with us on vacation has been such a treat!!! She has LOVED spending so much time with the boys and of course she has been super helpful. It would have been a whole lot less fun without her, that's for sure!

This boy is so brave and it makes me both super proud of him, but super scared about our future. I mean, how many visits to the ER will we have with this guy??

Starting the day with these two smiling and talking in bed is pretty great after a week of daddy sneaking out and whispering goodbye so early in the morning. Thankful for his hard work so we can enjoy the perks of vacation with him, but I'm so glad he's all our now!

Asher // six months.

June 28, 2018

Our little marshmallow,
You are still squishy and lovable and I honestly don't know what we did without you. I know so many moms say this but it's true. You have added so much joy and happiness to our family. Your constant smiles and sweet little babbling conversations are the sweetest. Your brother still wakes up every morning excited to see you, and you love him so much. You are really enjoying sitting up and playing with him now. You even enjoy playing on your own some, which is a huge improvement. But, you're still a complete momma's boy, and I absolutely love it. I always said that your brother only wanted me when he needed his milk. You, on the other hand, want and need me all the time. The smile I get when I walk in the room is the sweetest most perfect smile. I love being your favorite person, for as long as you allow it!! You are definitely my favorite six month old, sweet boy!

I think he looks so much like his daddy in this sweet picture!!

There are days and nights that I feel overwhelmed by how quickly the past six months have flown by. Because you became such a big boy so fast, I don't feel like you were a tiny baby for long. All the newborn memories feel like they were forever ago already. It's such a bittersweet feeling, trying my best to soak in all the little things about you, while enjoying all the ways you are growing. Growing to be such a sweet and loving boy already. We really, really love you, Asher. You are just the best baby brother ever.

Love,
Momma

stats //  24.6 lbs & not sure in length since we are on vacation

eating // normally nurses every 3-4 hours and has had some avocado and likes it, but he always starts screaming for milk after he's finished eating.

sleeping // if he's not teething, he's still a great sleeper. I realized that he was having some teething pain when he wouldn't nap or sleep well at night. I started to use the Copaiba oil on his gums at night and he only woke up once again. That stuff is a miracle!!

wearing // sizing is still so weird because some 9 month will still fit, but he's also wearing 18 month well. I was shocked that 18 month zip up pajamas fit him. He seems so much bigger in my arms recently too.
Also in size 5 diapers like big brother, which definitely makes diaper changes a lot less confusing in our house now!!

firsts // got his first two teeth and now working on his third, rolling over, had his first trip to Asheville, riding in the shopping cart at the store, sitting up unassisted now, fought his first stomach bug, went to the library for a playdate and tried avocado for the first time.

favorite things // holding my face or hand while nursing (one of my favorite things too!), singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider, hugs from big brother first thing every morning, & still smiling all day long!

We have had a great week, and are so excited to soak up the weekend at home, before we head off to Florida! I had a lot of fun looking back on our trip last year in Boca Miami and remembering all the fun we had. This year we get to enjoy it with boy boys AND my Mom! Peter's work conference on Marco Island this year, but we are still going to check out Miami since we loved it last time, and my mom has never been. It's going to be a good time!!! Now I just have to finish packing and cleaning this house before we can go! Hope you have a fun weekend....

Checking out the new library in town, with some friends this week, was a lot of fun! And we got our first library card. I'm also loving this new hair gel for Solomon's curls.

The way this cutie is talking to daddy (and anyone who will listen) lately is so cute!! He has such a fun personality, and we love it. We also love Thursday night family dates to new breweries!

Packing and sorting all the cute beachy clothes for the boys is so fun!! I can't wait to be on vacation. Three more sleeps!

hello summer littles.

June 21, 2018

one // ice cream parties in the playroom with the AC. My favorite kind of ice cream parties.... no sticky mess or sweat from the heat!

two // packing up our suitcases from our big summer trip to Florida. It's so fun to pull out the cute outfits I've been saving for vacation!!

three // the way Asher's hair curls around his ears when he's sweaty outside. Poor guy, I feel bad because he will sweat within seconds of being outside, but the curls are so cute. I'm really hoping he will end up with a head full of curls like his big brother.

four // putting the boys to sleep before its officially dark outside is so weird. Also, something that I never thought would happen in our house, so its kind of awesome! It definitely does't happen every night, but its a game changer when it does.

five // iced coffee. Lots, and lots of delicious iced coffee during naptime helps me make it through these long summer days with two sweet boys. YUM!

June 15, 2018

This week definitely did not turn out the way I expected, thanks to a very nasty 24 hour stomach bug! UGH. It was my first time experiencing a stomach bug and I can honestly say it was the worst thing ever. I even told Peter I would gladly have an unmedicated birth again before a stomach bug. It was that bad. But, we are all alive and feeling much better now. Just in time for the weekend... we are going to take it slow and stay home to make sure we pass the contagious phase before seeing family for Father's Day. It will be a very happy Sunday, that's for sure! Hope you all have a beautiful weekend celebrating all your favorite dads!

the calm before the storm on Monday, when taking photos of a peaceful sleeping baby was the most exciting part of the day. HA! I love his name blanket so much, such a sweet gift!

SO MANY HOURS spent in this playroom this week. Poor guy, I think he might be going a little crazy missing his normal busy schedule with his friends and cousins.

My view this friday morning with my hot tea and a cookie from that sweet boy. I love him!

Another productive and fun week makes this Friday a happy day & I'm so happy to say hello to the weekend. This one is a lot more laid back with less plans and I'm excited about it. I have some major cleaning and organizing goals around the house planned, so we'll see if I find the energy to do it... ha! Hope you all had a beautiful week and a fun weekend ahead!!

Fun mornings with cousins on Tuesaday. It sure was so nice to spend some time with my cousin Joni and her sweet babies. So excited for them and their new home!!

My sweet little dog walker. He gets excited to help me with Bella and go see the pond! I get excited for Gigi to come over so Peter and I can have a date night.... helping out with puppy duty is an easy price to pay.

The garden is giving us a lot of yummy treats lately. So many blueberries and several strawberries, but that fresh lavender makes me all kinds of happy!!!!

Solomon Says // 004

June 6, 2018

Time for another post with the funny and adorable things this sweet boy says lately.
I'll start with some of the random things he has said, that I was quick enough to save on my phone, before I forgot. There are so many, every single day, I wish I could remember them all!

piggy mommy // I was laughing one night, and I snorted (which definitely happens sometimes!), then he looked at me very seriously and said "No, mommy, you not a pig!"

back scratch // my back was hurting so bad one day and I told him to be careful with mommy because my back was hurting. He then started to rub my back and said, "I need to scratch it, mommy?" I could have died, so sweet!!

compliments // Solomon is all about the compliments now and it's really sweet to hear them all the time. It started with him saying he loves my hair, which is probably because that is what everyone tells him when they see him. He was even telling Peter he loved his hair one night also. But, now he will say all kinds of things like.... I love your eyes, I love your shirt & even I love this sandwich mommy, thank you. It's pretty sweet!!!

& then some of the thing she says all day everyday. Or at least it feels that way, haha!

nunkin else // instead of something, it's nunkin. And it's so dang cute!!! "Mommy, can we watch nunkin else"

what's that sound // if he hears something, he instantly puts his finger on his ear, then tilts his head and says "what's that sound?!" It's so funny and cute. He looks like a little old man who can't hear well.

do I have teeth // ever since Asher has gotten his first two teeth, Solomon is obsessed with asking everyone if he has teeth. He will come up to them and give a big smile and say "Do I have teeth???", then he'll ask if you have teeth, once you you tell him he does have teeth. So silly!

it's okay // anytime he does anything he shouldn't do, and knows he shouldn't do it... he says "I'm sorry mommy, it's okay!" I'm pretty sure he learned this because he would say I'm sorry for anything and everything for a while, and I would tell him it's okay. Now he tells me, especially when it's NOT ok.

sunday funday.

June 4, 2018

Yesterday was a good day! We spent it at one of the prettiest breweries, eating delicious food, drinking some refreshing beer, listening to live music and fighting off all the bugs. Well, the bugs were annoying, but the rest of it was very good. I've been dying to get to Asheville since our babymoon before we had Asher, so it was really nice to get back up the mountain and enjoy the day. It's so nice to be a short drive away, especially for Asher since he still insists on screaming the ENTIRE TIME he's in a car. Lord, please change that soon!!!

The hot summer days are officially here and it was definitely hot! But, watching this boy run around without his shoes and rolling on the grass and watching bugs made me happy. It's so cute to see the little boy in him growing and getting bigger!

happy boy, as long as he's not in the car!!

I know we will be back at Sierra Nevada soon, but I can't help but dream about the crisp fall days we can spend there later this year. Sorry, fall weather always has my heart!!!

June 1, 2018

It's been a full week of exciting things around the house for us, which is always nice. This week also flew by thanks to the holiday on Monday. We have a fun weekend planned and I'm so excited that the rain seems to be leaving. A beautiful weekend is going to be so nice, even if it is going to be a hot one. Hope you enjoy  yours!!

With Asher getting bigger and more fun, Solomon is all about playing with him, which can make thing a bit stressful. But, he is still such a sweet brother and covers him in kisses. He always tries to copy what everyone else does to Asher, so he tries to pinch his legs and squeeze his cheeks, but it's hard to explain why adults can do that but he can't. Poor guy... after his kiss he asked me if he could bite him. I'm guessing because I'm always biting his toes. Ooops!!

Playtime in the playroom with daddy before bedtime. This is some of my favorite moments... I love to watch them together.

Asher took a nap at my grandma's house earlier this week and it was so sweet to cover him up with the blanket made from my grandpa's shirts. He was named after him and I really do see so much of his personality in him, which makes me so happy. He was one of the best men alive and I know he would be crazy about my boys!!!
