1 More Day!!!!

May 26, 2010

Sooo... recently things have been a bit hectic in the Land of Cassie!!

Work is crazy right now... my current position is Money Manager (pretty much the assistant manager of the branch) at the Spartanburg Carolina First which is the ONLY branch in Spartanburg. So, that means that I have to open all the accounts for Spartanburg county which includes Private Banking AND Commercial Banking on top of all the accounts that just walk in the branch from a day to day basis. Now, this has never been a problem for me... I've actually enjoyed this because I stay busy and have lots to do.
BUT you add Head Teller to the mix of my day and I want to crawl under the teller station and hide and cry for most of the time. Since our Head Teller decided to stay home with her 3 babies (don't blame her, I'd do the same thing) I am currently filling in for the Head Teller position which includes being counted into the vault and running the teller line. For non-bank employees that means that any time during the day a teller needs money or has to much in their drawer I have to sell/buy the money to/from the vault. Yes, no matter what I am in the middle of... opening a new account, helping a customer with fraud, inputing a loan, heck... using the bathroom I have to go into the vault and sell or buy some money. CRAZYNESS!!!!
(side note: I pray a lot at work...)

This being said, I am definitely needed at my job which I LOVE because I do LOVE my job! It can just be a bit much at times. Also, I love my co-workers! They make my day a LOT better!!! We have hired a new Head Teller but she has to complete training first so hopefully by the end of June I will be free from Head Teller duties. YAY! I can't wait to have my Office back, full time!!! So excited!

I have also been planning a Surprise Party for my wonderful Boyfriend for about 2 months and I am glad to say that it's over!!! I pretty much tell Peter EVERYTHING and it was SOOOO hard to keep my mouth shut! It was a fun night and he was totally shocked. I was wondering if he had found out somehow since almost all of his friends were invited but no one let the cat out of the bag, thank goodness!  He thought we were going downtown, just the 2 of us for a romantic Birthday Dinner and then we show up (Peter looking in the opposite direction for the Hostess) and everyone screams SURPRISE!!!!  He was shocked!!!  His face was priceless!! His sister took a video and it was so great! Hopefully she is going to post it on facebook so I can steal it! The night was full of fun with some great family and friends!

Now, I have ONE more day till VACATION!!!!!
I can NOT wait!!! There's a group of 10 (including myself) going to Isle of Palms in Charleston for the whole weekend! We are leaving early Friday morning and we will come home late Monday! I am SO ready for some fun in the sun! I need some rest, relaxation, shopping, tanning, laughing, eating, and all that important stuff!  Definitely time for it! So, till next time.... hopefully I will return with an awesome tan! Yea right... who am I kidding?!?

Happy

May 20, 2010

"Ask most people what they want out of life and the answer is simple. To be happy.  Maybe its this expectation though, the wanting to be happy that just keeps us from ever getting there.  Maybe the more we try and will ourselves to states of bliss the more confused we get, to the point where we don’t recognize ourselves.  Instead we just keep smiling, trying like hell to be the happy people we wish we were until eventually it hits us, it’s been there all along, not in our dreams or hopes but in the known.  The comfortable, the familiar."
This was on last weeks episode of Grey's Anatomy which was so amazing!!  (I watched it twice)  I did the whole, rewind... pause, write. play.... pause, write. play.... pause, write, etc so I could copy this quote down perfectly word for word.  I just thought it was so accurate for my life...

There are always things that happen in my life with family, friends, work, church, love... and I always try and MAKE it happy when I all need to do is just relax!  Wise words from Peter... if I ever get bent out of shape about something (happens quite a bit) he always pats my leg and says "relax" and everything is back in perspective.  I have to stop sweating the small stuff!!  Life is way to short to live stressed and worried.  I've noticed in the past year and 10 months that I'm not as stressed as I used to be... and I don't let things get under my skin like they used to.  I find myself saying, "Cassie, Relax!!"  So... thanks boyfriend, I appreciate it!

I think it's important to realize that some of the most HAPPY times in our lives are the times where we are comfortable in a familiar place.  Not saying that God doesn't place us in an uncomfortable, unfamiliar place most of the time but finding God IN that place can make all the difference.  So, that's what I am going to work on now. I've gotten the RELAX thing down... I think.  Now I need to have FAITH that God is in control and whatever I am feeling or going through is all made by him.
"If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it."

Now that I am done with this blog I am going to watch this weeks TWO HOUR Season Finale of Grey's Anatomy... never know, I might find another awesome quote!!

Where to begin....?

I guess you can call me a copy cat for making this Blog because EVERYONE is doing it now days... BUT, I do not have a Twitter account!!!  I'm putting my foot down on that one, no way I'll get one of those!  This is fun, and care free.  A nice way to let people get to know you a little more!

So, hmmm... here are some facts about me!!

I am 23, birthday on February 3rd.
I am a Christian, currently trying to find the church that's the perfect fit for me.
I work for Carolina First Bank as a Money Manager for the Spartanburg Branch.
Favorite season is Fall.  Favorite flower is Gardenia.  Favorite Holiday is Easter.
Favorite food is Mexican (I could eat it EVERY day!)
Favorite store is Forever21, it's cheap and cute!!
BUT if I could afford it I would definitely buy all my clothes from
Channel, Chloe, Burberry, and Michael Kors.

I only use skin care products by The Body Shop, I'm addicted!!
Their cleansers, toners, creams, and scrubs are life changing.
For make-up I use Bare Escentuals for the most part... I think it's important to take care of your face to the best of your ability!  God only gives you one of them, and I refuse to ever get any kind of injections, shots, nips or tucks!  Hopefully spending a little more on quality products will prevent me from needing any kind of cosmetic surgery!!

I enjoy going out with friends for a nice glass of wine and dinner, maybe some dancing BUT I also love to have a chill night watching a movie and relaxing in some PJs!
I love watching sports with people who can explain them, I really love Baseball since it's pretty much the only sport I can enjoy and understand completely on my own! haha
I love to read... I am a little obsessed with the darn Twilight books.
I tried to deny them but a co-worker told me to read the first chapter of Twilight and if I didn't like it simply put it down... if I did like it keep reading it.  Needless to say, I read all 4 in less than 2 weeks!!  I like to read almost anything though, as long as it has a story.

I have an AMAZING mother whom I count as my very best friend... I would be lost with out her!

I have an adorable, sweet puppy.  She is a 4 year old, Yorkie-Poo.
Crazy at times but I love her!

I have the BEST girlfriends a gal could ask for!!
Jocie, I met in Chemistry class Senior Year... We were lab partners! :)

Katie, I met through Jocie.
This picture was taken at Passion when we really got to know each other!
Such an amazing trip and when I knew Katie would be one of my closest friends.

Madison, I've known since HS as well and got super close Senior year.

And Amanda!!!  She is the sweetest, most loving person I might ever meet!
I met her almost 2 years ago through some mutual friends.  She is also my hair stylist!

I have a fabulous Boyfriend, Peter!
I have been lucky enough to call this handsome man my Boyfriend for 2 years on July 16th
(coming up VERY soon!!!) and I've loved every minute of it!
He's with out a doubt the best man I've ever met!!  I am very lucky!!!

So, that's a little bit about me and my life.
Can't wait to start writing, hopefully daily about all the fun and exciting events.
xoxo, Cas
