weekly three.

October 12, 2018

What a week, but today is Friday, which  means Peter is coming home!!! Hallelujah! Oh, how I have missed him. He's a good one. A good husband, a good daddy and a good man and I'm so ready to pick him up at baggage claim. I am super happy with how this week turned out though. The first night was awful. Like, I can't even make it up, it was so bad. The next night was a little tricky, but then we figured it out. With a lot of help from my Mom, of course. And some extra special treats for a sweet boy who helped his Mommy out a lot this week. It was a good week, and it's going to be even better tonight. We survived!

Watching Asher love books recently kills me. How he points at things and babbles the cutest little words. It's too much.

Friends, rain boots and big puddles... what could be better, right?

The sweetest, chubbiest little skeleton baby! I really love October!!!

Solomon Says // 005

October 9, 2018

It's been a few months since I have shared one of these and I have so many hilarious things that Solomon has said. Or at least I think they are funny....? I am his mommy, though? ha! Anyways, I know I will kick myself if I don't keep track of them here, because I never want to forget them!

Bless You // We were hanging out with Jonah one day, and he sneezed on Solomon. Then Solomon said "Mommy, Jonah bless you on me!" I died laughing!!!

OJ // When Solomon spends the night with Gigi, he gets a special breakfast with bacon, french toast, fruit and OJ. He gets really excited for the OJ part. So, when he was going to spend the night with her recently, he asked me "Do I get Orange Juice with an apple?". I was confused at first, but then I realized he meant, does he get orange juice, or apple juice? He was very excited when I confirmed that it was in deed orange juice.

TV Talk // Also, at Gigi's house, Solomon was watching an episode of Puppy Dog Pals after dinner. Me, my mom and Peter were sitting around talking and hanging out. While we were discussing something, Solomon said "That's enough talking now". We all died laughing!! I guess we were interrupting his episode.

Spiky Toes // While Solomon was playing with Peter one night, he was crawling around like a dog and he told Peter, "I'm going to get you with my spiky toes"! hahaha, we died laughing. We told him that they are called claws, but he insisted they were spiky toes.

& a couple of things that he has been saying a LOT lately that I never want to end....

We // One of his little language quirks is how he never uses the word OUR. If he is praying he says "Thank you God for we day, thank you God for we food...." and even if we are hiding under a blanket with him, he says "we can see weselves!!" It's the cutest thing, and no matter how many times we explain it is OUR, he insists on saying WE.

Football // instead of playing football, he says, "let's play football season". I guess it's because he hears people say football season a lot, but it's pretty cute.

weekly three.

October 5, 2018

This week has been one of those weeks where you wake up and it's somehow Thursday?? It just flew by and it was a really good week. I feel like I'm starting to get my head above water with a lot of different things. I know the real reason though, I'm drawing closer to God. Talking to him, singing to him, asking him for help, and seeking out the community that he has given me. He is so sweet to help us when we need it, and he can soften our hearts so quickly, even toward ourselves. So thankful for his love. Hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Having some one on one playtime with Solomon while Asher napped this week. We loved painting these for the back door.

A very busy Wednesday with sweet boy called for a Chick-fil-a date and some ice cream. He is such a funny kid, I'm so thankful he's mine!

Date nights with my hubby at the AMAZING Halls Chophouse was such a great midweek pick me up! I decided we would have a special date night there once a season. I'm already looking forward to our winter date night after the New Year!

almost fallish.

October 2, 2018

When I saw that our friends from Justus Orchard would have a tent at the Travelers Rest Farmers Market, I knew we would have a fun time checking it out. Three words, Apple Cider Doughnuts. I had my first last year when we went Apple Picking at the orchard, so I was definitely excited to get some more! It was a perfect morning with low 70's cloudy weather and I really loved how small the farmers market was. Not crazy packed or overwhelming lines (except for those doughnuts of course) and so many sweet babies running around having fun. It was the perfect activity for the first fall weekend, and the weather was almost on board!

Before we had our doughnuts, we started with a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit from Hare & Field. I've been dying to try this place so maybe we can have some lunch there next time we try the market!

Even though we don't use the big camera often, he still knows what to do when he sees it! So sweet!!

beautiful mountains and some fun bubbles!

& Solomon decided to walk right into that huge bubble. Ha!

I highly recommend trying the TR Farmers Market!! We will definitely make our way there another weekend soon.

Asher // nine months.

October 1, 2018

the laying down pictures are not gonna happen now! This little monkey would NOT be still.

Sweet boy,
I tend to track most of the little details from our days and nights together when I’m rocking you to sleep. It’s the few moments that I get to focus on you, and have quiet alone time, with just you. It’s a sweet time and I look forward to it every night. You are so sweet and you smell so good! Now that you are eating with your hands, they constantly smell like fruit. Little strawberry hands that touch my face as your nurse to sleep. I never want to forget it.

sneaky little face!

I don't know how it's possible, but you seem sweeter than ever. You smile the most perfect big gap toothed grin and you can hardly contain your excitement. You wiggle and squirm and throw your hands around as you cheese so hard. I'm afraid I could kiss your cheeks off sometimes. You also go crazy for your brother! If he walks in the room you instantly smile and try and get his attention. I can already see that you want to be just like him. and I don't blame you, he is pretty great!

laughing at Solomon!!

You are also handling some separation like a champ and I’m so proud of you. You have been doing so well in the nursery at church, even taking a nap and letting them lay you down! You also allowed mommy to have a wonderful girls night since daddy got you to sleep! Then once you are sleeping at night, you’ve been going a good 4-6 hours with only one wake up most nights. I really am so proud of you!!

I can’t believe you are already nine months. You are getting so big and I can't believe I’m already buying things for your birthday party and starting all the plans! It’s such a bittersweet time, and I know It is going to fly by with all the holiday fun ahead. Before I know it, you’ll be a year old and we will be celebrating 2019. It’s unreal. But for now, I will hold you in my arms and nuzzle your neck and breath in that perfect baby smell while I can. You are my sweet baby boy, and I love you so much!

Love, Mommy

stats //  27.3 lbs & 29 inches
(finally slowing down with the weight, since he was 27.1 last month!)

eating // the eating has changed drastically in the last month. He won't eat anything from a spoon and insists on feeding himself, which means he's eating a whole lot less. He will eat the pouches though, so I am using those more than I expected. He still loves his milk, and has been nursing a lot thanks to the cold he's had for the last couple of weeks.

sleeping // every night is different, but the good nights are much more frequent than the bad ones. Normally he only wakes up once a night around 2-3 and then he wakes up for the day around 7:30. The past few nights have been rough though, thanks to all the congestion, it's been awful since he can't breath well.

wearing // a lot of 24 month things since the 18 month clothes are getting snug. I guess the extra inch he's grown but his legs are still so chubby so pants are tricky.

firsts // climbing and crawling on everything, giving kisses and huge grins, jabbering and talking constantly, sadly had his first fever and bad cold, feeding himself with his hands BLW style,

favorite things // riding in his new red car on our walks, being thrown in the air by daddy, giving kisses, eating fruit & being obsessed with Solomon. Seeing him watch every move he makes with the biggest grin kills me!
