fall festival & the 1800's.

November 13, 2018

Over the weekend, we realized that we didn't have any plans on Saturday morning, so we were excited to have a family fun day. I love when Peter and I get to take the boys out to do something fun, just the two of us. It's so nice to create new memories with them. I recently told Peter that I love parenting with him, and it's true. He balances me so well, and that shows when we are out and about as a family. We decided to head over to Roper Mountain Science Center to check out the Fall Festival for their November Second Saturday. This is our second time checking out the Second Saturday events and I loved it. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into the events, and that is something to appreciate! Roper Mountain also has a really neat Living History Farm that instantly takes you back in time. It's so fun to walk around and check out all of the buildings, garden and animals. Thankfully it was a BEAUTIFUL morning and the weather was absolutely perfect for a Fall Festival.

The garden that they have at Roper Mountain is what I would love to have in our back yard. Maybe one day, we will have the time and energy to make it look like theirs, cause we definitely don't now!

While walking through the garden, I asked Solomon to turn around and smile, since this vine was so beautiful. He stopped and posed just like this and said cheese. Man, he kills me!!

This guy made little figures with tin and it was fun to hear him talk about how big of a passion he has for his job. He travels around all over sharing his craft and it was interesting to watch him. Solomon wanted to take one home!

Just chillin in his stroller, waiting for a nap!

Milking a cow with my boy! I couldn't resist since I have felt like a cow for most of the last 3 years, ha! I also couldn't get over how gorgeous the real cow was in the barn.

This little band played some beautiful music!

This guy's outfit was my favorite!! He was a Cooper and it was really interesting to hear him talk about all the fun things he makes with wood.

Such a fun morning with my guys!! Then we all went home and crashed for our afternoon nap, exactly what great Saturdays are made of, am I right?!?

two years of brews.

September 3, 2018

Another year, another celebration for great beer. There are a lot more options in Greenville now, when we are in the mood for a brewery date, but I think Birds Fly South is still our favorite. The beer is SO GOOD, the food options available are delicious, and it is so family friendly! We all love it, which is always a good thing. I will love it even more once the cooler fall temps are here, just saying.

They also had a little Sunday Market set up with some local small businesses. We laughed at how Solomon went straight to the honey tent when he saw it. He wasn't a fan of much else, but honey is always a good idea in his book!

my sweet boys! I totally bribed Solomon with his baseball bat for a picture with mommy.

He has no problem sharing kisses, but not a fan of sharing his strawberry Popsicle

Happy two years, BFS!!

Just for fun, here is the One Year Celebration post with Asher in my belly!
Then, our first Family Date as Four was also at Birds Fly South. We clearly love it. ;)

thursday nights.

Somehow, any random Thursday when I don't meal plan well enough, we always end up heading to a brewery in town for a family date night. We had heard a lot about the latest one downtown, Liability Brewing, which is also conveniently next door to Moe's Original BBQ! So, when I told Peter I had no idea what we were doing for dinner, he quickly suggested we check it out. Which I quickly said OKAY! The BBQ was pretty good, but the wings were amazing! After we had dinner we walked over to the brewery for a beer. They had very tasty beer plus a super chill & family friendly brewery, which is our favorite combination! I know we will definitely enjoy several family date nights here in the future.

what would a brewery be without some cornhole!?!

My sweet boys!

Solomon was clearly excited to see this painting on the wall... his face, goodness, he kills me!

thursday nights.

April 26, 2018

A couple Thursdays ago, we had such a fun family date night at Quest with one of the best food trucks I've ever tried, Keepin It Fresh! Beer, great food, and live music... I was so excited! Thursday nights are usually pretty chill for us and I told Peter we should go every week. HA. He said maybe once a month. I love to find new things to do outside as a family and I really love how breweries are the perfect family friendly activity now. There are always so many kids and dogs hanging out, which is so fun!

I had the brussel sprout salad with chicken  and it was seriously amazing!!!
Peter had the tuna nachos and they were pretty good too, but Solomon's super fancy grilled cheese was so good! It made me think of that food truck movie, Chef

Mmmmm!!!!

Asher was so chill and loved looking around at all the kids playing and listening to the live music!

And if the perfect weather didn't make me have all the summer feels, then this little caterpillar sure did! It was so cute to watch Solomon's face as he watched it crawl on Peter's hand. Unfortunately, it will be raining tonight, but next week I hope we can make it back out to Quest for a little family date night!
