that annoying little Reply All button!

September 5, 2012

Today I experienced one of the most ANNOYING parts of working for a large company. This has happened a hand full of times and I’m always amazed at how dumb some people can be. It all started a little something like this….

A co-worker in NY sent an email asking a simple question and chose what she thought was the correct email but instead it was a large email chain for almost every department within the whole company.
Luckily, mine was included…

Instead of ignoring the email and moving on with their life… like I did, a long line of responses started. For your entertainment I have listed SOME of them below:

· I believe this was sent to the wrong person.

· I will delete these emails as I am not the right person for this email.

· Same here

· Same here. (no, I’m not kidding… that happened two times in a row)

· I am not sure why I am on this email chain. Please remove my name

· There are multiple people on this email responding right now. Looks suspicious to me

· Everyone: Please stop replying to the mailbox! You are just clogging everyone’s e-mail!

· Stop the “Reply All” and respond only to the person that sent the email….it is killing my inbox!!!!

· PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO ALL. THIS EMAIL WAS RECALLED. THANK YOU

· Yes Everyone Don’t click reply all my mailbox is going wild

· Vegas just called and they have the over/under for “reply alls” at 35.

· Please make it stop

Just so you know… it did not stop.
Honestly, it might still be going on when I return to work tomorrow morning.
I’m baffled.

Happy Humpday…
and hopefully your day was full of fun and happiness, not dim-witted people.

Free burgers and fries are kinda awesome.

A few weeks ago a coworker of mine sent out an email explaining how we could win a “Fudd Friday” by entering a contest with B93.7We all took a few seconds to vote and crossed our fingers that we would win. Last week we got a phone call with the exciting news so on Friday we got to enjoy the Fudd Bus! We stuffed our faces with some yummy burgers and fries from Fuddruckers and then spent some time bowling for prizes!
It was the best way to spend a fun hour on a busy Friday!
I’m so glad I love the people I work with…
it definitely makes every day feel a little less like work.

The rest of the weekend was spent in Atlanta with Peter’s family.
His brother turned 31 and with their first baby on the way we spent a lot of time discussing names,
feeling all kinds of kicks (that kid is getting strong!)
and painting his future room!
I failed miserably at taking any pictures this weekend except for this one special shot.

Not sure how I feel about it…. But he sure is cute. ;)

Sunshine + Surprises!

June 11, 2012

This weekend was simply wonderful and I can’t wait to share some of the pictures from Jocie’s Shower but more on that later this week…

Friday started my weekend off on the right foot for sure!
All last week we had “Employee Appreciation Week” at work and I helped my co-worker with the “Appreciation Planning” which of course meant we knew everything that was going to be given out.
One of my most favorite things to do is plan surprises! Love them!!
I also love receiving surprises even more so it was super sweet to be given a gift card from my boss for all the planning. I really do have the best boss!

Every day last week everyone in my department got a little $5 gift card
(coffee, ice cream, food)
and on Friday we received one for Soby’s on the Side.
YUM! It was the perfect idea since they have a Four Dollar Friday deal every week!!! CHA-CHING!

So, on Friday it was a perfect sunny day to take a little stroll down to Soby’s on the Side for some free lunch and it was delish!
I love downtown Greenville and I am so happy I get to work in the beautiful area on a daily basis; it really is such a blessing!!

A verse... and some randoms. YAY for Friday!

November 18, 2011

Tonight I am home alone with the pup. Sitting on the couch with my hot peppermint tea by my side and listening to Brooke Fraser Pandora. Those two things make me very happy. Hot peppermint tea makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and the wonderful music blessing my ears makes my heart smile. Nights like tonight are fabulous.

Don’t get me wrong, I really LOVE people and I definitely love my Mom but a girl can always use some alone time. Just some time to relax and regroup. This time of the year is always so hectic and busy so every chance I get to enjoy some peace and quiet I definitely take advantage.

I won’t be lazy and boring all night though… nope, I’m waiting for a call from my dear friend Madison! Then I will run off to Downtown Greenville to have a glass of wine and chat the night away. I’m so blessed to have such sweet women in my life! Last night before bed I was enjoying God’s word and this verse made me happy:

I’m glad to have women that make me a wise woman. Iron sharpens iron, right?
Without my ladies I think I would be pretty dull, just sayin’….
I’m most definitely blessed!!

So, I thought it would be nice to share two of the random events that made me happy and this beautiful Friday...

1) The new mail guy came by at work and I guess he’s starting to feel more comfortable talking to me now…? He is from Ireland and has a heavy accent. When he walked in to pick up the afternoon mail he asked if I was Irish. I smiled and said, “yes… part Irish.”
He smiled really big and said “reeeaaally?”
I smiled and said “yes, freckles and all.”
He then went on to tell me that red heads are going extinct so he’s always happy to see a red head. Haha!!
Well, of course I couldn’t break his heart and tell him that I’m not a “real” red head, now could I?
So I smiled and said Thank you!

I’ve always said I was meant to be a red head and people that didn’t know “brown headed Cassie” always think its natural… that definitely makes me smile!

2) One of the guys at work came by my desk today and asked what my favorite beer was... I didn't think this was an odd question because it's a common subject among the men. I told him and he was a little surprised.  I guess because it's not a "girly" beer... after a small chat he walked off. A little later he walked in the door and placed a brown paper bag on my desk! I laughed... I'm so thankful for my job and the people I work with. When he sat it on my desk he said "Just a thank you for all you do". He's annoying most of the time so it was a nice change. ;)

I guess he also found out I don't have cheap taste either....

I hope you all had a wonderful week!!! Enjoy your weekend, I know it's going to be beautiful around here and I plan on soaking in every second!

Random Blurbs {Part Dos}

October 13, 2011

Happy ALMOST Friday! :) I figured since I was in a rush to get ready for Amanda's Birthday PARTAY I'd share a few quick Random facts today. Just get some things out in the air... express myself! Here we go....

1. I was recently told that my pants were too big and I needed to have them taken up. This would be a GREAT if it weren’t for two things…
A) I’ve already had them taken in TWICE &  B) they are one of my favorite pairs of pants that I guess I will have to send to Goodwill. Oh well, at least I’m not needing to “let them out” because they are too tight.

2. I have a plant on my desk that a co-worker gave me that I seriously don’t even notice or think about until the ladies that water our plants come by to water it. I think I finally understand how I killed a cactus once.

3. I’m officially tired of my Otterbox phone case for my iPhone 4 and I don’t know what I should get….? I found a great deal on an adorable Kate Spade case on Amazon but then I also like the cases on the skinit.com website.  Any advice? What do you ladies prefer on your phone?

4. My boss said to me this week…. “Cassie, are you always this happy or do you act this way to make me happy?” He’s a very blunt person… extremely KIND and SWEET but blunt none the less… so I smiled and said “I try and be happy all the time.” He smiled at me and said “Good… I like you!”
I’ve also asked him to adopt me several times. Maybe he is warming up to the idea….

5. I’m not much of a “reality TV” fan… I’ll watch the Kardashian’s if they are on, and by watch I mean mess around on the computer while I slightly pay attention to the show that’s on which is exactly what I did earlier this week but of course I got sucked in like normal.  After the show went off I was getting ready for bed when I heard a new show come on, Dirty Soap.
Oh dear, I couldn’t help myself. I don’t even like Soaps and I am embarrassed to admit that I actually stayed up and watched the entire show. I may or may not have searched to see when it was coming on again so I could record it.
Do not judge. I don’t watch the Real Housewives and whatever city they are from… yuck.

Hope you all had a blessed day & hopefully you are all getting ready for the weekend ahead with a smile on your pretty faces!!

Where's the paper...?

August 25, 2011

Work has been STRESSFUL for the past week or so... thankfully we finally hired a new person so it will be so much better soon but it won't be ideal until late September, maybe October.  So, it's stressful!  However, here are some of the things that kept me laughing this week.

(Before I start let me say that I work with 10 men.  TEN... and 3 women.)

Scenario 1
Man #1: "Hey, Cassie... do you know where the computer paper is?"
Cassie: "Yes, let me show you... (walking over to cabinet that I have labeled "Paper")
All the paper will be in this cabinet"
Man #1: "OH!  Guess I should have looked there."
Cassie: "No problem, just yell if you need anything else."
(Side note:  This cabinet is RIGHT above the printer that needed paper.)

Scenario 2
Man #2: "Hey, could you check to see if these documents are already imaged?"
Cassie: "Sure, add them to the pile..." (with a smile and pointing to the several piles that are
over flowing my "IN BOX").
Man #2: Thanks!

Scenario 3
Man #3: "Could you check on this request for me?"
Cassie: "Sure, I can show you where you can find this information or I could do it
first thing tomorrow morning for you... would that be fine?"
Man #3: "Oh, are you busy right now?"
Cassie: "Well, I have to leave in a few minutes for a hair appointment."
(Side note: I skipped lunch so I could leave early at 4:30.)
Man #3: "OH, you could at least lie and say you had a dentist appointment."
(he was totally kidding)
Cassie: "haha, sorry... I already have my appointment approved."
Man #3: "Yeaaa, that's fine... tomorrow morning is fine, no big deal."
Cassie: "Thanks, have a good night."
(Turning to walk out of his office)
Man #3: "Good luck with the cavity..."

Scenario 4
Man #4: "Cassie... where is the computer paper?"
Cassie: "The paper is right here...."
(going to the cabinet, once again, that's labeled "paper")
Man #4: "Ahhh, duh!"
Cassie: "haha, no problem!"

Scenario 5
Man #5: While walking into the office and
realizing his door is closed,
"Why is my door closed?  Is someone in there?"
Cassie: "Yes, they are having a meeting.... you are a little bit late."
Man #5: "OH! Man... I totally forgot, how late am I?"
Cassie: "It started 15 minutes ago..."
Man #5: "Okay, do you have access to my calendar?"
Cassie: while trying not to laugh...
"Yes... I do, I will remind you next time."
Man #5: "Thanks!"

Scenario 6
Man #6: "Hey, Cas... where's the paper?"
Cassie: Seriously laughing at this point...
"hmmm.... let's see, maybe it's in the cabinet right there that says "Paper"??
Man #6: "Wow... I am turning into my father!
He always asks my Mom where everything is when it's right in front of his face....
"Hun, where's the Splenda??  OH, here it is right in front of my face!!"
 ...Sorry!"
Cassie: "haha, no problem... that's what I'm here for!!"

Yes... I do love my job.  I find satisfaction with making others life a little easier, and if that's by pointing out where the paper is THREE times for THREE different men that can't read then that's okay with me! ;)

It's also nice to have a certain man (My wonderful boss) show his thankfulness with a nice note and breakfast biscuit!  It really does make all the difference when you are appreciated!!!

Tomorrow is Friday... that also makes me VERY happy!
