So far....

March 9, 2011

This has been an interesting week.

Peter left on Sunday morning at 6 AM for an emergency trip to Alaska.  He's heading back today so he will be home around 9:30 tomorrow morning.  Definitely ready for him to be home!!  Surprise trips are not fun... or at least for me they aren't much fun.

On a HIGHER note.... I found out that Sara Bareilles is going to be at The Orange Peel in Asheville on April 19th!  I seriously almost jumped up and down when I saw that she was going to be performing so close.  She is one of my absolute favorites and I instantly thought of Jocie's Birthday.

Last year I took Jocie to see Ingrid Michaels (another fave of ours) at the Handlebar for her Birthday and I can't think of a better tradition to start... a new concert for her Birthday every year!!!  So much fun... and I can see us having a beer and jamming to some awesome music at 60 years old!  ;)

Jocie's Birthday is March 24th and we will be in our VERY Exciting Girls Weekend trip to Wilmington, NC on her Bday weekend so it will be nice to celebrate again with Sara Bareilles!  Whoop-Whoooop!

With work this week we have had a LOT of changes... we are currently switching to TD Bank so every day there are new information but this week was the big switch with our computers.  Which also means that at least 3 people had to stay after hours to help with the upgrades and make sure everything is correct.  I was one of those 3 people.  And we were there till 10!  Not only did I get home at 10:30 after my commute home but I had to be back at work again this morning at 8:15!!!!  At least I get to leave early on Friday... makes everything worth it!

Also, on a completely different topic... I went to the gym on Monday night and I did so many squats that I can hardly move.  Still feeling them today.  I thought I would wake up and my legs would be back to normal but no... definitely not!  Gotta love that feeling though, going to do some more after dinner tonight.

Speaking of dinner.... waiting patiently for Jocie to finish church.  She's my Peter for the night so we are going to eat sushi of course!! YUM!  So ready for some dinner.  Ready for some Sauce+Sas time!!

CONGRATULATIONS!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for one of my BEST friends, Kaite Ayer and her wonderful fiancé, Cody!!!  I've known for about 3 weeks now and was incredibly afraid that I'd ruin everything but it all worked out perfectly!

When Cody told me the big plans I mentioned a Surprise Engagement Party for him and Katie.  He was a little hesitant and since Peter said "You should high jack their engagement!!!"  I didn't push... but I knew that Katie would LOVE it and eventually Cody gave in!  ;)  Smart Man!

With help from all of our wonderful girlfriends (and my amazing Mom) we had a TON of delicious desserts and champagne for the big celebration...

The Glasses said, He POPPED the Question...
and She said YES!!!

The BEAUTIFUL cake made by Beth.  She is incredible!

And here are all the wonderful Ladies!!!
We are all so excited for you, Katie!

Congrats to the Happy Couple!!!!
Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for you both!

Jesus Talk...

March 3, 2011

I'm currently working through 1 Corinthians and I am LOVING it!!!  It's killing me.  Tonight I'm going to study Chapter 5 but I can't get over Chapter 3 from 2 days ago.  It's just so beautiful and revealing.

1 Corinthians 3 says:

7 It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow8 The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. 9 For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.
10 Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.

Does that not kill you?  It sure kills me... in the best way possible.

We are made to GROW in God for His Kingdom but we need others to help us grow.  Reading this made me think of those who are watering ME!  I have to say, I have some pretty awesome "gardeners" around.  I mean, Spiritual Green Thumbs!!!  I truly am blessed for the Godly friends in my life.  They make it so much easier to grow.

We are God's field... building... temple.  And anyone who try's to destroys His fields... buildings... and temples then they will be destroyed by Him.  If that doesn't make you feel safe then I don't know what will!

His GRACE is so sweet and I seem to forget that sometimes.  If you haven't read 1 Corinthians you should give it a shot.  It really is amazing...

Hope everyone had a wonderful day!  Tomorrow is Friday....... FINALLY

Gratefulness.

March 2, 2011

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

-Melanie Beattie

My wonderful Mom sent this to me yesterday.  Yesterday was a BUSY day!  One of those days where your “To Do List” is a lot longer than you hoped it would be.  One of those days where you feel like it should AT LEAST be Thursday but it’s only Tuesday.  One of those days where you would have been MUCH happier at home in the bed but that just wasn’t an option.

To be honest with you, when I received this email from my mom with this great quote I read through it quickly and pushed it aside for some other time.  Today is a different day.  Seems like all the “stuff” I was working on yesterday paid off because today was a relaxing and a little bit boring… trust me- I’m not complaining, BUT since I wasn’t slammed with things to do I found myself thinking of the quote I didn’t completely read.

Of course after I read it I wanted to kick myself for not taking the time yesterday.  This is JUST what I needed to hear and think about all day long yesterday.  Gratitude is an amazing thing!!!

Gratitudethe quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.

I wish I took more time to express my thankfulness to those around me.  Co-workers, family, friends, boyfriend and especially my Mom for sending this quote to me!  I am FULL of Gratitude for having her!  I’m truly blessed beyond belief!

So, for all of you reading this… THANK YOU!  I appreciate you more than you know.  I love to log onto my blog at night and see all the views from one day!  It makes me smile and I really do love it so much!  Hopefully this quote will stick with you and when you’re feeling a little overwhelmed or maybe a little moody you can read this… soak it in and feel completely grateful!

24 DAYS!!!!

March 1, 2011

and I will be here……

with these BEAUTIFUL Ladies!

Oh, how I love them so!!!

Katie and I are very excited, mainly because our favorite show is filmed in Wilmington.

We both have been obsessed for the longest time… Jocie not so much but she will have fun too!
WE PROMISE!!!

We are going on a tour of the set that includes One Tree Hill, all kinds of movies and Dawson’s Creek too since it was also filmed in Wilmington.  We will of course do lots of eating and shopping… that’s a given!  And hopefully we will go on a ghost tour!!! YAY!

More than anything I am exited to have some Joc and Katie Ayer time!  It’s definitely long over due.   So the count down has begun… TWENTY FOUR DAYS! I can NOT wait!!!!!!
