Not to mention that we couldn't find a cab back to our hotel and I really didn't want to walk the mile back since we walked a mile there, and I was wearing VERY high heels. Next thing we know the owner of GrandTen offered to give us a ride in the most awesome classic, old truck ever. They were such nice guys. If you ever make it to Boston, and you are free on a Friday night, I highly suggest trying out the Friday Night Flights like we did. You'll love it!! And they give you potato chips!

Just a warning, this post is also going to have a lot of photos. I honestly can't choose which ones to leave out so I'm going to share way too many. I can't help it. Boston is just way too beautiful, and that is not my fault. As I mentioned on my Leather Jacket post, the weather was amazing. Amazing in a way that we were not expecting. The weather forecast for the time we were going to be visiting said 60's & 70's but almost every day was in the 80's. I don't mean to complain about the warm weather but I'm really not a warm weather kind of gal. The 60's and 70's.... now that is my thing. And boots are my thing. Boots with jeans. And you know what else doesn't like weather in the 80's? Boots and jeans, that's what. So it was a constant battle almost every day, but you can't really complain when you are staring at beautiful Boston every day and walking beside the man of your dreams exploring a new city. So, it was hot, but it was so, so, absolutely wonderful, wet jeans and all!! ;) And now are all the photos I warned you about..... hope you enjoy!
^^ One of the highlights from the trip was going to the Red Sox and Yankees game!
We got to see Jeter in person before he said his goodbyes.
It was also really awesome to watch the Red Sox fans cheer for him with all of us Yankee fans!
^^ dinner at Eastern Standard while we waited for the crowd to die down after the game.
Celebrating our One Year at Deuxave!
You can't tell by this photo but we were so stuffed, the food was amazing!!
Then we made our way to Cambridge to visit the Harvard area the next day.
It was the first week of classes, so it was really busy but a lot of fun to walk around!
^^ I took a switch from my normal spicy margarita to try The Night Nurse at the Gallows
and I really liked it! This place was a really fun bar and we loved the brisket tacos!
One more fun post left from our weekend in Boston,
a Sipping on Cloud Nine post will be happening on Friday!

Where do I begin….? First of all, I have to give a HUGE shout out to the beautiful, Morgan, for giving us SOOOO many recommendations. We loved all of the places we were able to try and this romantic, hidden gem definitely did not disappoint! Okay, now that I gave my virtual hug, I can continue swooning about Panza. I always love to find hidden gems in new cities and this place was so wonderful. I used Open Table to book our reservation and when we arrived, we both were a little confused. The place was tiny and we couldn’t find a hostess as we pushed through the line out the door. We were then told by another party waiting that they had reservations at 7 (ours were at 7:30, and we were 10 minutes early) and that we just have to wait in line for a table. Still confused, Peter went to the kitchen area to check on our table and he was told that we needed to wait in line. So, we did. Soon after we were given a back corner spot by the kitchen area which I normally wouldn’t prefer but the entire atmosphere of the busy Italian restaurant was so charming, and not to mention the constant smell of fresh garlic in the air. We loved it. It was delicious and very well priced; we were able to get a bottle of wine, appetizer and two meals without breaking our dinner budget. Even with the first impression of the restaurant we both agreed that we would glady come back if we lived in Boston. I now understand why Panza has so many high reviews, it really is incredible! Just make sure you have reservations... trust me, you'll want them.
^^these muscles were so good, cooked in white wine sauce and a huge amount of garlic,
we were soaking up all the juice with our bread
^^ Peter got blue crab ravioli with a tomato cream & lobster sauce,
and I got the veal marsala with a side of penne and marinara,
we both LOVED our meal!
Some other honorable mentions:
drink // amazing drinks and the best burger I've had in my entire life.
Eastern Standard // another great place for drinks and a great option after a Red Socks game, the service was also wonderful
Deuxave // honestly the most expensive place we went to but it was worth every penny. This was also our anniversary dinner, so we splurged!
Toro - the Gallows - Seiyo Sushi - Myers + Chang // these places are on the same street and we loved all of them! You really can't go wrong with any of these restaurants and they all have different kinds of food and atmosphere.
Render Coffee // lastly, the coffee and the bagel sandwiches at this cute coffee house were so gooooood.

I know we will be making a trip back to Boston in the future and the food has a BIG part in that decision. It was seriously so wonderful!!

^^ of course one of our first stops was a fun brewery tour at Harpoon!
^^ the buildings were so beautiful and old.
A lot of them had medallions with date built on them, the one above said 1907!
^^ of course we had to try out Mike's Pasty!
Our second day was packed full of sight seeing with the On/Off tour through Boston. We decided to take a break from the tour and hopped off at the Beacon Hill stop for some gorgeous pictures and yummy lunch. We were definitely not disappointed.
^^ the RH on this beautiful building stands for Restoration Hardware.
Can you imagine... something so beautiful being in such a beautiful building?!?
Sadly, I didn't have a chance to check it out, but I can only imagine how amazing it would be.
^^ And here comes all the beautiful Beacon Hill wonderfulness....
and the pizza at Figs was the perfect lunch!
^^ tasty beer with some pizza is always a great idea! The pizza above was not ours but doesn't that pile of calamari on top of cheese pizza look so beautiful??
Our fig and prosciutto pizza below was also beautiful and the flavors together were amazing!
We also ordered the buffalo chicken pizza with jalapeno slaw and it was spiiiiicy, we couldn't finish it!
prepare your eyes for the super charming, Acorn Street, below!
Okay, I think that is plenty waaaay too much, for today.....
but I have a special Sights + Seats post from Little Italy coming at ya tomorrow!!!
