thursday nights.

April 26, 2018

A couple Thursdays ago, we had such a fun family date night at Quest with one of the best food trucks I've ever tried, Keepin It Fresh! Beer, great food, and live music... I was so excited! Thursday nights are usually pretty chill for us and I told Peter we should go every week. HA. He said maybe once a month. I love to find new things to do outside as a family and I really love how breweries are the perfect family friendly activity now. There are always so many kids and dogs hanging out, which is so fun!

I had the brussel sprout salad with chicken  and it was seriously amazing!!!
Peter had the tuna nachos and they were pretty good too, but Solomon's super fancy grilled cheese was so good! It made me think of that food truck movie, Chef

Mmmmm!!!!

Asher was so chill and loved looking around at all the kids playing and listening to the live music!

And if the perfect weather didn't make me have all the summer feels, then this little caterpillar sure did! It was so cute to watch Solomon's face as he watched it crawl on Peter's hand. Unfortunately, it will be raining tonight, but next week I hope we can make it back out to Quest for a little family date night!

one year of great brews.

One of our favorite things to do as a family is check out breweries. It's such a fun family date activity,  and most of the time it includes chasing Solomon around as he plays with other kids and dogs, while sipping on a tasty brew. A win/win for all of us! One of our favorite breweries in Greenville is most definitely Birds Fly South. Peter has even said it's the best brewery within 500 miles, and I agree with him. The atmosphere is amazing (even better since there is a White Duck Taco Shop next door) and the people who work there really love it. You can tell it is their passion, and that always makes good beer!

We were excited to celebrate one year of awesome beer!! The party was a carnival theme, which made the whole family friendly fun, even more fun. The live music didn't hurt either. We got some tacos and some cheese dip and enjoyed the sunshine with a cool fall breeze in the air. The perfect way to start the month of September if you ask me!

& then we decided to leave since the bubbles were way too much of a temptation, and Solomon didn't really get the whole "stay behind the tape" rule. HA! It was a fun afternoon, and Birds Fly South threw one heck of a one year birthday party!

new brewery in town.

Peter has been patiently waiting for Birds Fly South to open and we were not disappointed one bit. We were blown away the first time we had a BFS beer at a restaurant a few months ago, and every time since has been just as great. It is exciting to have such a great beer made locally. The brewery was a lot of fun, too. Live music, nice people and some good food truck burgers to go along with the tasty beer.

black and blue burger with fries, yum!

gimme some beer, ma!
love that sweet photo below, chunky baby hands and feet have nothing to do with a brewery but I couldn't resist from sharing!!!

trying to stay cool on a humid night!

puppy dogs and dirty knees, such a boy!

If you are local, check out Birds Fly South! You won't be disappointed!!
I know we will be spending a lot of time here during the fall.

downtown Duluth.

I always love visiting our family in Duluth since it's such a cute little town. I've seen it change and grow a lot in the past several years that I've been visiting, which is always fun. On Friday nights they have the Main Street blocked off and full of food trucks. That's pretty much heaven in my book, so I was really excited to check it out. The weather was absolute perfection. The first perfect fall night, which was a total tease since the humidity is back, and it's up in the 80's again! It was a nice little peek into the next few months, though! I'm hoping to make it back to GA again soon, and I'll definitely enjoy the food trucks!!

This was by far the best truck, but we did get some delicious mac n cheese, that sadly wasn't pictured from another truck. There was quite a wait for the food but it was definitely worth it!!

eyeing those fries... keep dreaming kid, not quite yet!! ;)
