Easter, 2018.

April 2, 2018

Starting Easter weekend with a delicious brunch, and an egg hunt in our back yard with my side of the family makes me so happy. I make my quiche and hashbrown casserole, everyone else brings the other important sides, and we have a fun morning. All the kids are getting so big. It was really fun to watch Solomon understand the egg hunt for the first time. He was still pretty confused last year, but he loved it this year. The weather was so nice all weekend, so it was great to spend a lot of time outside. Even if I'm paying for it now with my allergies. It was totally worth it!

Peter brought out the chicks after the fun egg hunting, and the kids were so excited!!

I love Solomon in the photo below, because he's totally telling Joanna how to touch the chicken. I guess he's an expert now....?

cute baby Asher!!! I love his little face & I also love how much Shawn loves babies!!

Cute girls sitting in a tree!

The sun was so bright but I don't care, I love this one!!

And Asher loves his Gigi and Mama so much, that cute smile kills me!!

Easter Sunday was a little hectic to begin with since I woke up with a crazy migraine. I was supposed to go teach sunday school with Peter for the first time since having Asher, but it wasn't happening. I ended up laying on the couch with a blanket over my head for about 30 minutes while some advil kicked in and made the pain go away. Once I was feeling back to normal I started to prep some food and get everything ready for my favorite holiday. I was so thankful things turned around.

Solomon was impossible with photos all weekend, unless it was a candid shot. I fear he's getting at that toddler stage where he doesn't want to say cheese to the camera. He can be so stubborn, but I do love how "real life" these pictures are. He's a mess. But he's cute, lucky him. Asher was so cute all day, loving all the attention and cuddles from everyone. Even if his outfit was almost too small. So crazy, I bought it two weeks ago and it was very loose, and I could close the bowtie that came with it. I really  thought it would fit for Easter but he has gotten so big so quickly! These boys, it is so sweet to have two boys in our arms this year.

Sweet brothers!
& sweet cousins!!

forcing the boys to take pictures on the deck instead of hunt all those Easter eggs.... I was proud of them for trying their best. haha, they are all so cute!! I also love how all the kids had coordinated outfits without planning it out. I love all of them so much!

Gigi and Teta love for Asher!

& their freeeeeee! haha

baby girl!!!

I love this woman a whole lot!

& a photo with my husband and no babies, what?!?

Darth Vader eggs thanks to Auntie Mimi!!

Those curls, kill me every single day!

& sweet kisses for mommy!

So much to be thankful for. Family, babies, delicious food and celebrating our risen savior.
Easter weekend is my favorite, hands down!!!

I was excited to try dying Easter eggs with Solomon for the first time. I knew that it was going to be tricky, and truly test my patience (something I pray for very often!), but I also knew it was going to be a lot of fun. We are fighting a pretty awful cold in our house. Solomon has been sick for about a week now, and yesterday was really rough. He fell asleep in my arms around 3:30 which meant he didn't wake up till almost 6pm. I knew it was going to be a late night, so I thought dying eggs would be a fun thing to do. He really enjoyed it, even with the cold.

I had hopes to make some of the natural homemade dies, but then I realized that I had a toddler and a newborn. ha, realistic ideas, right? So, instead I went to Target and picked up the traditional egg dyes. Honestly, it was super sweet to use them, since that's what I grew up using. I didn't expect the nostalgic sweetness to happen for some reason, but it totally did.  Watching Solomon's face when I put the little tabs in the vinegar was priceless. He was so excited as he saw the magic happening before his eyes.  And since we were dealing with dyes that could stain his shirt, I thought it would be wise to keep on his very dirty shirt from the day. It was covered in his lunch, a PB & honey sandwich, and then pasta from Gigi's house at dinner. Surprisingly, he didn't get any dye on his shirt though!

One of the funnier moments from last night. Peter used the chalk crayon to write on an egg and I saw the JE. I instantly thought he was writing Jesus and I thought it was so sweet.  As the egg started to turn in the bowl, I realized he wrote JETS. HAHAHA, it was funny, and definitely made me laugh. I decided to draw a heart on my purple egg!

The crusty, runny nose.... the very dirty shirt.... and that sweet face.
All of it is such an image of a growing boy, it kind of kills me sometimes when I watch him. But then I see bits and pieces of my baby that has grown into such a sweet boy and I'm thankful to create these memories and new traditions with him.

Easter 2017.

April 20, 2017

It was such a beautiful weekend full of family fun and meditating on the perfect love of Christ! He is the reason why Easter is my favorite holiday.... the egg hunts are fun and the cute bunny ears on babies are precious, but His love is my favorite. The biggest love that took our sin away when He died our death, so that we could be with Him forever. That really helps me put everything into perspective. We also had baptisms at our church over the weekend which is always so special. There was this one little boy, maybe around 9-10 years old, and he came out of that water with the biggest smile on his face. I had tears streaming down mine. I always pray for Solomon's heart and for him to give his life over to Christ at a young age, so I couldn't help but imagine my baby boy taking that big step one day. So special, and so perfect for the Easter weekend.

We started the weekend with a Saturday morning brunch with my side of the family and a big egg hunt in the back yard for the kids. Solomon really didn't know what was going on... he just walked around and threw eggs in the yard. Of course our red chicken saw the kids in the backyard and had to jump the netting to join in the fun. I think it's so funny how much she loves to be with people.

Then on Easter Sunday we had the big family lunch with Peter's side. I called dibs when we got married and I love hosting it. Since the egg hunt went so well on Saturday, we decided to do it again with all the boys after lunch. It was the perfect little break before dessert and the weather was so nice.

looking at all his Easter basket goodies on the back deck!

I helped Solomon with his egg hunting on Sunday and I think he really enjoyed looking for them and picking them up. It was so cute to see him run over to each one!

All the grandmas out in the yard with the boys, I love this picture!
It was such a wonderful weekend that made me so thankful for our family and all the sweet babies on both sides. God is so faithful!
