Friday Five.

April 3, 2015

This week has been a long week compared to last week's short vacation week with friends. But, it has still been a good week. Spring Break is happening right now for most of Greenville so work has been steady but quiet. The nights have been filled with relaxing and cleaning so we can prepare for Easter this weekend. I'm so excited to host the family at our house! Hope you all had a great week and that your Easter weekend is wonderful. Here are a few things that made me smile this week....

March 20, 2015

Well, after a few weeks off from my Friday Five thanks to the CRAZY & busy times lately, I'm very glad to be back in a routine here! I've missed making time for this blog but that is been impossible recently. Making time takes time, ya know? So now that things are settled a bit I can take my moments to breath and type. It's a wonderful thing! Hope you all had an awesome week, here are a few of the things that made me smile.....

The past week has been a little weird. Home sick on Monday, feeling better Tuesday, feeling great Wednesday, two hour delay thanks to snow (even though it was supposed to be a FULL day but the snow let us down!) and now it's Friday. Feels like it should be Wednesday again for some reason? Either way I am excited for the weekend ahead.... hope you are as well! Here are some other things that excited me this week.

pretty tulips thanks to my Mom, she always picks some up when I'm feeling sick
but some how I never expect it, it's always such a nice surprise!

I learned this week that I love beets!! And beets are super good for you,
so I'll take it! A nice little salad mix from Two Chefs is always a great pick for lunch.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I love cereal!
Like, eating it for breakfast, snacks and dinner since this baby loves it.

Melted snow and fresh eggs.

But the snow looked so pretty before it melted away!
Now I'm ready for spring.....

February 20, 2015

Another week has passed us by. At the beginning of the year I felt like everything was going at a snail's pace since I had so many questions and concerns with this pregnancy, but now that things have mellowed out and I'm not sleepy 80% of the time, I've noticed the time moving by faster. I appreciate that a lot! Hope your week was a good one, here are some great things about mine.....

Tuesday was a nice and relaxing day thanks to the "Ice Day"!
I snow day would have been more fun but I'll take what I can get
for a day off full of relaxation and homemade soup.

Speaking of homemade soup, my moms spoiled me with
some Oyster Stew on Wednesday night since Peter
was out of town. We try and have our favorite dinners
that aren't Peter's favorite when he is away for work!

Another thing I try and do while Peter is away is Laundry!
It's always the perfect time to catch up on laundry, wash the sheets, clean up and
organize everything so he can come home to a tidy house this afternoon.

The girls are laying a LOT of eggs again!!! So excited to see
their production kick back in gear, it makes me think that Spring
is right around the corner. Now if only the weather would agree.

We have three parties this weekend for three different kids in our lives.
I feel like an official adult now, entering this new season of life that
involves a lot of babies, even our own now!! I think it is so exciting
and I'm not going to lie, the shopping is a lot of fun!

Things have been pretty quiet around here lately, oops.
It has been so busy the past few weeks and I hardly have time
to sit down and enjoy this space like I love to do. I'm hoping in the next
few weeks that will change! Until then, here are five things that made
me super happy this week! Hope you all had a wonderful week, as well!

The week of Christmas is always full of happy things! Busy, crazy, I feel like I may be losing my mind but it's okay because it's Christmas, kind of things. But, it is okay because we celebrate Christmas because of our savior. Our God that sent us His Son as a baby boy to die so that we may live. The most beautiful love story of all time. That is what this season is about and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with His peace and love. Here are a few things that made me smile this week....

Friday Five.

December 12, 2014

This week has been a "Christmas filled week" for sure!! I love it though, all the hustle and bustle of holiday parties, decorating, shopping and planning the busy weeks ahead. I've also had the roller-coaster ride of sickness this week. You know, feeling like death, then much better, and then, oh wait, I'm dead again. Thankfully Peter is on the mend now, because of course he got sick after I did. This of course made me take the plunge and switch the Annual Ornament Exchange party to my mom's house since she graciously offered. Goodness, I can't imagine the stress I would be feeling right now if the girls night was still planned for my house. So, after this week I am thankful for a lot of things - a husband that works hard even when he doesn't feel well, a Mom that doesn't mind changing party plans, and the fact that today is Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful week and a fun weekend ahead, here are a few things that made me happy this week.....

December 5, 2014

This week started off reeeaaaally rough. Like, on the verge of an ear infection/strep throat, kind of rough. But thanks to a doctor visit and some meds I'm all good now! I've also learned that I need to double dose the vitamin C and vitamin D during November because apparently I went to the doctor with the same problems in 2013. And just for fun, my foot has decided to hate me and I think I may be suffering from tendinitis, thanks to the lovely stairmill during my workouts. Fun week, right? Thankfully, things have turned around and I'm feeling more like myself! Here are five things that made my week happy, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

A lot of hot tea this week

Finding out that our church has two songs on iTunes, the one above is my favorite right now

Five Favorites // Fall Beauty

October 17, 2014

Over the past couple of weeks with the cooler weather arriving, I've realized I have several items that I'm constantly reaching for. I thought today would be a great time to share my top five favorite items for this fall with all of you!

this stuff is magic. I actually forgot it at home while we were in Boston and I didn't realize
how big of a difference it made with my skin until I didn't have it.
After just a few days without this night cream, my skin started to feel tight (in all the wrong ways!)
and I started to break out like crazy. My skin was back to normal, creamy and smooth, after just a few days once we returned home and I was able to enjoy it again every night.

I've already shared some love about this lip balm on Instagram months ago but it's still my go to
when my lips feel dry. I love to generously cover my lips with this before I go to sleep at night and
when I wake up in the morning my lips still feel soft and buttery. Plus, it smells so good!
I'm going to grab this version next time I'm at Sephora for my purse since the tin isn't purse friendly.
I found out the hard way when I threw it in my bag one day and had a big mess when I tried to open the top and all of the balm had slid to one side and covered the lid.

Wild Argan Oil Body Butter // The Body Shop
One more Body Shop love of mine that I use all the time. I love all of their body butters because they are so, well... buttery and perfect, but this scent is my favorite.
I also love to put a thick coating on my feet when I get home from work and then put on some thick socks. It's like a perfect little treat after wearing high heels all day long. I know once the winter months hit, I will be using this on my hands daily!

Colorstay Gel Envy // Revlon
This nail polish is the one brand that I am constantly reaching for. My nails last a full week anytime I use this brand. When I use others (even essie) I have chips within days. And the best part, I don't actually NEED a top coat with this formula, but when I do add a top coat, I know that it will last even longer! Plus, the colors they have available are so beautiful. The Checkmate color is on my fingers right now and I'm loving it!

Ocean Salt // LUSH
We actually purchased this awesome product while we were on our honeymoon in California over a year ago. I did a little (okay, a BIG) happy dance when we came up to the LUSH store in Carmel, since I had never been shopping there but always dreamed of going.
I bought some hair products and Peter bought this. I honestly didn't use it until just a few months ago and I instantly fell in love. The way this scrub can deep clean your face is amazing.
It starts off feeling super scrubby, but not rough at all, then you have that squeaky clean feeling and once you start rinsing it off your skin instantly has this super milky, creamy feeling. Anytime I start to feel a breakout I instantly use this stuff and the problem area is gone by morning. I will definitely be ordering a replacement online when we run out!

So that's my top five fall favorites in the beauty department!!
What are some of your favorites??
I'd love to hear!

Friday Five

June 20, 2014

This week has been a whirlwind of traveling to NJ, then back home, squeezing in some work for two days and then flying off to Kansas City today for a wedding celebration! It has been a wonderful week all around, busy but wonderful. Here are a few things that kept my heart happy this week....

1// cuddles with this sweet baby that I miss so much now!
three days of cuddles was not enough.

2// the vacation time with this guy is always fun but traveling together as husband and wife is so exciting. Seeing the letters MRS before my name on my flight ticket made me super giddy!
trying to get some of NYC in the backgroud of this photo, ha!

3// laughing so hard at the Chonda Pierce show on Wednesday night!
It was the perfect midweek pick me up.

4// sharing some love for these shorts yesterday!

5// celebrating a late Father's Day dinner last night with my dad and brother!
Potatoes, steaks and grilled veggies!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!
