We have had a good week at home even with Peter being away. Luckily, he came home earlier than expected and we are spending today in Asheville! I love when we have unexpected and unplanned things to do. Diana is still in town with us and Solomon is in love. Her name is pronounced Dee-anna, so we are pretty sure Solomon is calling her banana. Yesterday morning when he woke up he opened his eyes and said "Nana" which is his way of asking for Banana.... or Diana, I guess? haha, it was pretty cute! It's going to be sad for her to leave, but I'm excited to spend some time with her in Asheville before she heads home!!! Hope you all have a fun weekend!

One thing that I love most about Valentine's Day is how it's not just for your romantic love. It is for family, friends, and just the world in general. Spreading love is always a good thing in my book. One of the friendships that I'm so thankful for is my friend Jill. I've talked about our fun "stay at home momma adventuress" before and I know that God placed her in my life for a reason. I have so many wonderful women in my life but she is the one and only friend that I have become close to because of this crazy thing called motherhood. We met because of our boys. That will always be special to me!
When we realized that we were both going to be husbandless for Valentine's Day, we jumped on the opportunity to take our boys out on a date!! When we were thinking about a spot to meet up for dinner, Jill mentioned we should make this a true Valentine's Day, and meet up at the spot of our first date, Fresh to Order! We had our first lunch date so many months ago while we watched our quiet sleeping babies in their car seats, and fumbled around trying to nurse in public. HA, how things have changed!
It's always fun to have a date with our boys, and I'm so thankful for so many friends with baby boys!
I definitely love being a boy momma!!!

There are a lot of things I love about having a baby, but seeing them in adorable PJs, are pretty high on that list. My mom says I have a problem... I can't help it. Pajamas are my favorite! These Burts Bees Pajamas are a favorite, for sure. The red was so perfect for Valentines Day, also!!
chowing down on some broccoli bites I made this morning!
His big grin KILLS me, he is such a happy boy!
- climbing on the couch on his own now. He loves it. Up, turn around, slide down, back up again... over and over.
- Moved into his big boy bed, since he refused sleeping in his crib for over a week. He loves it and is so cute when he wakes up after a nap, he just looks around and smiles. Even sat and played on his bed for 45 minutes after a nap while I was folding clothes, so I let him, Ha!!
- Says baby (even points out other babies when we are out and it kills me!), meows when asked what a kitty says & moo when asked what a cow says. He really points and talks all day now. Repeating everything I say.
- Baths are the best thing ever. It's so crazy how much he loves them.... I don't have anything to compare it to since he's our first but I think it's pretty extreme. No matter what time of day or night, when we come home and pull in the garage he screams "BA!!" and once he's in the house he makes a mad dash for the stairs screaming it over and over. It's almost impossible to distract him so he usually has a bath every night.
- Naptime is super easy lately and he falls asleep usually less than 10 minutes, then sleeps for 2-3 hours. Nighttime is still a struggle, takes a while for him to fall asleep and still wakes up frequently. Going to start the night weaning process soon so he can hopefully sleep better without waking up to nurse so often.
- Gives kisses on cheeks when asked, they are always really long and sweet!!
- Lost about 2 pounds because of a very sick month. First he had Hand Foot and Mouth, then about two weeks later, he got a case of Roseola virus. Thankfully he is all better now and eating really well again. Praying he stays healthy with no more viruses or bugs!

The weather this winter has been amazing!!! Barely cold (I wasn't a fan of this during Christmas but now it makes me happy!) & it has made getting out of the house so much fun. Especially with a little guy that LOVES to be outside and explore. We had a cousin in town over the weekend to celebrate a family wedding, so we decided to show her around downtown, since the weather was perfection Saturday morning. Despite the surprise flat tire, we still made it just in time for brunch (more on that later this week!!) and a nice little stroll around. Fitting in all the fun things that downtown has to offer; food, beer, gelato & some playtime at Falls Park!
We don't get to see Diana as often as we'd like & Solomon has become a big fan. We were thankful for the extra hands and feet to help chase him around!
Also, the way that Peter and Solomon have been matching lately (and not on purpose at all) kind of kills me! I mean, look at this.... blue shirt, jeans and grey shoes. Talk about making my wife & momma heart almost explode.

"doooooock" aka, duck in Solomon language.
clearly getting close to naptime. These sleepy eyes are so sweet!
Falls park was crazy busy, looks like everyone was enjoying the perfect weather!
& this picture perfectly displays the fearlessness in our crazy boy! He never thinks any hill is too high to run down. I was actually talking to Diana before taking this picture about how I like to imagine seeing things in Solomon's eyes. I was wondering how big that hill seemed to him. Probably the biggest mountain he's ever seen, for sure. But there he went, walking all the way to the top, turns around with a big smile and runs down. I hope he always keeps his sense of adventure. He definitely gets it from his daddy!

February is off to a busy start and we have another busy weekend with family in town for a wedding. I'm excited to have a fun time with a lot of cousins that we don't see that often, especially since one sweet cousin is staying with us! This week was a long one since Solomon was sick for the beginning of it but I think he is finally back to normal. I'm praying we are in the clear of any viral funk or bug now, I can't handle my sweet boy being sick anymore. Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
Using my new camera and pretending to be a photographer for a sweet friend on Sunday was a huge highlight for me! It was so much fun to capture their excitement about there little boy on the way. I left so excited and told Peter I wanted to become a photographer, for real!!!
Co-sleeping at it's best, the mornings are my favorite!!!! I'm so torn about our sleeping arrangement and what to do to try and help Solomon sleep better at night. To night wean, or not to night wean, that is the question....
I was a happy lady last night thanks to an awesome pizza spot that gives a free pizza of your choice for your birthday! High five, Sidewall Pizza!!!! Sign up for the Birthday Pizza if you are local in Greenville, SC!
