Sights + Seats // Biscuit Head

March 13, 2018

I have been dying to try Biscuit Head for such a long time now. I honestly can't believe how long they have been open now, since this was our first visit. I guess eating breakfast at home is easier after having a baby?? But, we had some errands to run on Friday morning, and Peter took the day off of work, so we could tackle them together. After we were finished I was starving and Biscuit Head was right across the street. Asher was in that milk drunk heavy sleep and didn't wake up when we put him in his car seat, which is a miracle, so it just seemed like the right thing to do!! And boy, did we enjoy it!!!

Peter got the fried chicken biscuit which had an awesome sriracha slaw and sweet potato butter. The combination of the two was so great!!! I didn't even pay attention to what Peter ordered, so when they brought it out, I thought they had the wrong  biscuit for him. He's not crazy about southern food but he definitely made a great choice!! I picked the pulled pork biscuit. DUH. My eye always goes straight to pulled pork when there is the option on a menu. Once I saw the jalapeno pimento cheese, bacon and maple syrup combined with pulled pork I was done. I did change the poached egg to an over easy egg though. It was perfection!! We also got the huge fruit bowl with chocolate bread to share with Solomon. We were all very happy with our plate and enjoyed sharing a few bites with each other!

Peter approved, which says a lot for my food snob husband. ;)

Asher woke up and wanted to join in the party for a bit.

We will definitely make an effort to visit Biscuit Head again!! Like, this weekend. ;)

slumber parties at Gigi's.

My mom and I have always loved traditions. She has definitely has taught me to love making traditions and keeping them for our family, and I"m so thankful for that. I decided to spend the night at my mom's house after the girls night Christmas hang out and it was so much fun! Solomon slept so well all night and it was so sweet to wake up and have some fun with Gigi. Christmas movies, a fire and some yummy breakfast!! It's definitely a tradition that we will keep up in the years to come.

Christmas 2014.

December 29, 2014

This is the first Christmas in a while that I have stayed in Greenville the entire time and the first ever for Peter. We missed seeing all of the family in New Jersey but there was something wonderful about staying home and making new memories here for the first time. It was our second Christmas has husband and wife and I absolutely loved it. The whole week and weekend was wonderful!!

Christmas Eve is always with my Mom's family at my grandma's house
and it is most definitely the kid's night!

Until Santa shows up and all the "big kids" want a picture, too!

Christmas morning breakfast is one of my favorite new traditions!
I love to wake up early and entertain in our home with my sweet husband,
it is such a gift to have him around to always help and make the best coffee.
makings of my favorite quiche and some yummy mimosas below!
Second Christmas as Husband & Wife!

After we opened gifts together we went to Peter's mom's house for the family gift exchange.
It was definitely a new feeling since we have never spent Christmas with his family in Greenville.
As you can see, we are resourceful when it comes to gift opening thanks to some Google Hangout!!
and of course, it wouldn't be a holiday without stuffed grape leaves!

To wrap everything up we enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner on the day after Christmas
with my mom this year! I also love this new tradition that the three of us have together.
both of our BIG gifts!! Peter and I got my mom a new kitchen knife set
& then Mom surprised me with tickets to see Wicked with her in February!!
Ending the night with juicy prime rib and amazing horseradish mashed potatoes, the best!

Thanksgiving 2014.

December 2, 2014

Thanksgiving is about being thankful for a lot of things, and I'm very thankful for all the food. We started Thanksgiving off with a bang, thanks to the waffles and the perfect quiche at the Eliya home. We did this last year and also for Christmas and I really love it. Starting the day with some delicious food and yummy coffee is a must on a holiday. I also love traditions so the fact that this has happened two years in a row will make this a true tradition, now!

PS, this quiche is the ONLY thing that makes me excited for breakfast.
Well, that and coffee, of course!

Lunch was the normal Thanksgiving with a Middle Eastern twist thanks to Peter's side of the family. All of my favorites were on the table. Stuffed Grape Leaves, big salad, the best stuffing ever and super yummy gravy. Mmmm, all of it was delicious.

^^ My sweet little nephew was pretty delicious, too! Love that boy!

And on to the Thanksgiving dinner. All of my favorite casseroles, tasty turkey and even some ham this year at my Mom's house. It all was SO GOOD and I didn't regret one bite. I do regret trying to make Mac n' Cheese for the second year in a row. That stuff is just NOT my thing. I give up...

^^ my mom makes the BEST turkey!!!!

I'm looking forward to a little more Thanksgiving next weekend with my Dad's family.
I'm so glad we were able to split it up this year and see everyone!! Thankful, thankful, thankful.
Hope you had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!!
