Twenty Four.

September 27, 2011

While sitting at work I had my iPod playing all the music on shuffle when 24 by Switchfoot came on. Such a good song… I honestly forgot about the song until my 24th birthday when I dear friend of mine said he remembered sitting on his 24th birthday and listening to that song over and over. Even then I didn’t go and listen to it.

So, here I was… sitting at my desk carefully listening to the song. Absorbing every word. Apparently the lead singer and writer of the song wrote it at the end of his 24th year.

It’s funny how fast my 24th year has flown by. I’m anticipating my 25th Birthday and planning for an awesome party but listening to this song today made me realize that I need to soak in every single day. I am a HUGEplanner so it’s hard for me to do that, especially when I am excited about what I’m planning. And just for the record… a duo 25th Birthday Party with one of my best friends is most DEFINITELY exciting!!!

So there’s a random thought from my head today. Hope you enjoyed it, ha!
I also thought it would be nice to share the song with all of you… it really is a great song & I love Switchfoot!
Enjoy and hope you all had a blessed Tuesday!

Twenty four oceans
Twenty four skies
Twenty four failures
Twenty four tries
Twenty four finds me
In twenty-fourth place
Twenty four drop outs
At the end of the day
Life is not what I thought it was
Twenty four hours ago

Still I'm singing Spirit take me up in arms with You
And I'm not who I thought I was twenty four hours ago
Still I'm singing Spirit take me up in arms with You

Twenty four reasons to admit that I'm wrong
With all my excuses still twenty four strong

See I'm not copping out not copping out not copping out
When You’re raising the dead in me
Oh, oh I am the second man
Oh, oh I am the second man now
Oh, oh I am the second man now

And You're raising these twenty four voices
With twenty four hearts
With all of my symphonies
In twenty four parts
But I want to be one today
Centered and true

I'm singing Spirit take me up in arms with You
You're raising the dead in me
Oh, oh I am the second man
Oh, oh I am the second man now
Oh, oh I am the second man now
And You're raising the dead in me

I want to see miracles, see the world change
Wrestled the angel, for more than a name
For more than a feeling
For more than a cause
I'm singing Spirit take me up in arms with You
And You're raising the dead in me
Twenty four voices
With twenty four hearts
With all of my symphonies
In twenty four parts.
I'm not copping out. Not copping out. Not copping out.

yuck....

September 26, 2011

So here I am... sitting on the couch with my sweet pup curled up beside me stuck at home with a stomach bug.

See!  Not lying.

I heard there's a bug going around and I'm still not sure if it was something I ate yesterday or if it really is a bug.
Either way it's annoying.

So, what does a chick do when she's stuck at home?  Feed her new obsession of Pinterest?  YES, I think so!  So here are some of the wonderful things I have found..... enjoy!

My husband... thought you all should know.

Planning my 25th Birthday Party with Madison
and this makes me very excited!

Beautiful DIY what I will be working on soon!

Makes me want Fall Weather RIGHT now!!!!

Can't wait to do this, I think it's so fun!!!

Coolest idea for a pumpkin EVER!!!!
Cute tiny pumpkin stuffed in Lace Stockings!

Going to perfect this handwriting for adorable invitations!

Yup.... agree!

I hope all of you have a fabulous Monday, hopefully better than mine.  As for me... I'm going to go relax on the couch and watch some TV so I can feel all better tomorrow!

Super Duper YAY!

September 25, 2011

I'm sure you've noticed the new look and I hope you all like it!  I'm in love.

So incredibly thankful for the lovely lady that shared her awesomeness with me!  She was so much fun to work with, thanks Kelly!!

I love all of it but I have to admit that my favorite part is the bible verse above...
It makes me happy!  When I read it I knew it needed to be my statement for not only my blog but my life as well.  Sometimes I get caught up in all the wonderful blessings that I have I forget to take a breath and really thank the one who gave them to me.

The unfailing love of God is overwhelming if you really think about it.
It makes me feel small and needy of His safety and guidance.... but then I also feel secure and strong because I know I am filled with Him.  That's such an amazing feeling.

I want to yearn for His love more every single day and I can't wait to share how my life is changing with all of you...

I hope that this blog is something you look forward to reading.  I hope it makes you smile and laugh.  I hope it makes you think.  Mostly, I hope that it radiates with His love more than my own.

"My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Galatians 2:20

Neutral Warmth

September 19, 2011

With the cooler weather lately all I want to do is cuddle up in a warm sweater and sit by the fire with friends.  Take in the smell of Fall with a slightly pink nose from the chilly breeze.  ahhh... I love Fall!

With all this dreaming of leaves, hot tea and bonfires I've been eyeing some simple yet classy items to keep me toasty in the coming months.  Yes... expensive but a girl can dream, right?!?

Random Blurbs

September 17, 2011

First of all let me say that I am so excited about a new blog layout thanks to the incredible Kelly!  I'm so thankful for Instagram and the worldwide web friends that I have made from a simple photo app on a phone... its crazy!  Can't wait to share all the awesomeness that she has made for my new blog.  :)
ha, you'd think I had some famous blog with this excitement.

Some other randoms that I have had pop through my crazy head this weekend are.....

1) Why in the world can't a girl wear a headband and sunglasses?  I mean, really!  Is it unthinkable to have your hair pulled up in a ponytail and your bangs held back with a simple headband and then need to shield your eyes from the sun?  Never works.

2) I am so happy that I saved all the crazy letters that Jocie wrote during our Senior Year of High School because I seriously almost DIED while listening to her read them tonight.  I got an amazing ab workout and had tears running down my cheeks... priceless.  I really want to read the ones I wrote now.

3) I absolutely LOVE Saturday nights at Grace Church.  It totally makes me entire weekend and I feel so down if I can't go.  So thankful that I love my church!

4) Can this weather get any better?  Everyone keeps saying that it's going to warm up again.... booo!
Come on Mother Nature, stay calm and cool... relax, no need to be mean.  please....?

5) I love my girls.  We had a night full of yummy soup in tasty bread bowls while sipping on chilled wine with a lot of laughter!  I am so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful women in my life.

And thanks to Mom for taking the pictures.....
and listening to us laugh non-stop all night!

Quick Catch Up!

September 16, 2011

Hello long lost blog readers... if you are still there?  I've been on a complete blogger hiatus thanks to the big move.  I've had absolutely NO want or need to sit and type at the end of my busy days.  I thought some pictures would be a nice way to catch up quickly before I pass out....

Seriously beautiful view for a beautiful wedding!

My super hot date... :)

Absolutely LOVE this picture!!!
So happy for Christina and Travis... they are

Tonight was spent on the back porch sipping on the yummyness above while enjoying a tasty Cheeseburger that I grilled myself.  I love this house.  I love this weather.  I definitely love that beer.  & I really love that I'm loving life right now.  So beyond thankful.

Happy weekending everyone!!

Thankful... and tired!

September 10, 2011

I'm pretty sure this post is not a good idea since I have NEVER been this tired in my entire life.  You really don't realize how much stuff crap you have until you have to move all of it.  We are officially IN the new casa and I will be having my first night of slumber here.

{Side Note: The KIA commercial just came on with the hamsters singing and dancing.  On a normal day it scares the poo out of me.  In this state of mind I almost cried.}

Anyways... as I'm sitting in our new house on this awesome new couch I am feeling pretty awesome.  Tired?  Heck Yes!  BUT thankful... heck to the YES!

Thankful for awesome friends and family that helped us move today.  {You people ROCK}
Thankful for an amazing mother that I absolutely LOVE living with.  She's the most perfect friend, roommate & Mom!
Thankful for this sweet little ball of fur lying on my legs right now, softly snoring because she is exhausted too.
Yup, thankful for ALL of that fabulousness!

Now I am going to crawl into my wonderful bed and sleep on my new "pillow top" mattress.  I might squeal a tinsy bit. :)

Little Quirks....

September 2, 2011

I've been told that I'm a little weird, sometimes strange... special, and even "odd" but I like the term quirky.

I think that the quirky characteristics in a person are the best parts.  I embrace mine... so I thought I'd share some.  You can judge if ya want but this girl is comfy in her skin!  :)

1. Sometimes when I am bored… or even overly excited I speak in a weird voice.  Whenever I do this it makes me miss my long lost sister from another Mr. from Spartanburg.  Only she understood my “oddness” and speaks to me in “our” language.
The first time I used this voice at my new position (while using one of those awesome staplers that you hardly have to press-so NEAT) my two co-workers standing in front of me looked at me like I had my head on backwards!
I miss you, Rebecca!

2. Whenever I print a thick stack of paperwork I always grab about 10 at a time and hold them tight to my chest/neck area.  It gives off the BEST heat and warmth.  Ahhhh, toasty!
My office area is FREEEEEZING so I may do this several times a day.

3. I think most gals do this but I may be wrong... I have an addiction to online shopping BUT I don't buy anything.
I create an account.  Add things to my shopping cart.  Let them sit there.  THEN I get angry when they are out of stock.  Like I'd ever by anything??  It's craziness, I tell you!

4. I can NOT use my iPhone calendar for a planner.  Call me old school but I have to have a hand written planner in my purse or else I WILL forget what I have planned tomorrow, next week... in a couple months, whenever.
I don't know what it is but something about actually writing it down helps it stick in this head of mine.  After trying to use my phone for months now I can't do it any more.
Going back to the trusty and reliable, Barnes and Noble Moleskin Planner!

5. I have an obsession with cards.  I've known for a long time that I've always liked them but I finally realized I had a problem while packing my "Junk Drawers" in my room last night.
I found four cards that I have no recollection of buying.  None.
I also found some cards that were given to me that I've saved.... I absolutely loved reading those!  I found 2 from my bestest, Jocie... 1 from when she was leaving for Winthrop.  Yes, I teared up while reading it.
Also found a card from Bella.  That's my dog.  Mmmhmmmm... I had a "Mother's Day" card from my dog...
that I saved.
I have decided that I will have a special box for all my saved cards over the years on my brand new book shelf in my beautiful "reading and relaxation room"!
aka, the guest room.

Completely changing the subject... we are moving this weekend and I already have one cup of coffee sipped and 1 truck load full of boxes!  So excited, going to have before and after pictures of the new place!  Going to buy paint today!  Whoop-whooooop!
So tell me, what are your quirks???  Do tell!
